US attendance for DV winner

Timeline

When you pass your interview you will get your passports back with visas inside them. You will get them together ( assuming you mean huband/wife or parents/minor children ) After that you can travel to the US. I don't think they will stop the secordary person if the primary hasn't travelled.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Incorrect. The primary DV winner has to come to the US either first or together with the beneficiaries. Beneficiary CAN NOT enter before the DV winner (primary applicant) has entered the country.

Milimelo is correct. The DV winner must enter the US before or at the same time as the derivative beneficiaries.

The derivatives cannot derive LPR status if the principal does not have LPR status. One can only derive something if the principal has it. The principal acquires LPR status when he/she enters. After the principal acquires LPR status, the derivative beneficiaries can derive LPR status based on the principal's LPR status.
