Hi all,

I'm mailing off my whole AOS application on October 10th after my wedding date on Fri Oct 7th :)

I expect that USCIS get rather lazy over the thanksgiving/christmas holiday period.

Based on past timelines, can I expect my EAD to arrive BEFORE christmas? Or should I plan on not hearing anything back until the start of the new year?

Thanks in advance for any useful information, I did do a timeline search but couldn't find a way to filter a specific month.

- J

If you look at my time line I was doing AOS last year this time and sent off 19th October and got EAD Jan this year and GC in March so yes it will slow down over the holidays so don't expect anything till new year sorry to say unless of course you are really lucky and get a staff member who really wants to get their work up to date before Xmas. Good luck and with your wedding.

Hard to guess, but we married on Oct 5 and filed a few days later. I was looking at my timeline and see EAD was approved Dec 11 and the card received Dec 26. It could happen. Our transfer to CSC was the slow route however and AOS took longer than people interviewing in our October group. I think it's currently going faster.

Generally it takes 2-3 months after mailing package

I know that, I was asking specifically in regards to the holiday season.

Thanks everyone! I'll file and be hopeful but whatever will be, will be. Being in the US with little to do is still a lot better than being in a long distance relationship!
