The UNCF was incorporated in 1944, long after 1890. They still exist today (uncf.org). Go tell them they are racist. The NAACP uses the word "colored" and was founded in 1909, 19 years after 1890, and they too are still around. naacp.org. Go tell them what racists they are.

The word "negro" or "negroid" as the same as "caucasian" or "caucasoid." Like "black" to "white." It's a race. Identifying a race and identifying a racist are two different things. I have believed anyone is a better or worse person based on skin color. There are many factors that go into character, and if I have to stoop to picking on your race, gender, height, weight or other such factor then I an scraping for ideas.

I can see how ** can be used as a slur, but I can take the most innocent of words and make them sound negative with the proper context. Isn't that how "good" words become bad words anyway? ** is a genus. We are all **...sapiens. Remember from school, ** erectus, ** habilis, ** neanderthal...something or other? So saying ** means gay is a stretch, like saying gross means hideous. Gross means a dozen dozen. Grotesque means hideous.

So here everyone is getting bent out of shape for words which are perfectly normal, and for which they may not even know the proper definition.

Some people best serve society by being on welfare. They should be carefully screened and removed from public payrolls as it will be cheaper to just pay them welfare.

What you really ought to do is document this whole ordeal and then put it on YouTube as a whistleblower for how messed up the system is. "See, I had to do this to prove how messed up everything is. I sat at home smoking and eating ice cream (your wife lets you eat ice cream? You don't get sick?), turning down jobs and working under the table. See how I did it? And nothing even happened to me. The system is broken. We need to fix it!"

It'd go viral! Might even draw enough attention to the issue to fix it.

But, I am on my computer, using a VPN to access MY internet, on MY time. I will agree with you that we need to look and uncover public fraud and beneficiaries taking advantage of the system. I would suggest sending them where they belong, a jail.

I earned my unemployment. Thanks to the state of Alaska I got a raise in my unemployment benefits hence the reason Iv'e turned down two jobs in the past couple of weeks. I just don't feel in the mood to go back to work right away. I have 3+ months left on my extension and welding now and then under the table pays the bills.

Kip, since I work in construction, in Vermont, where winter seasonal layoffs are pretty much accepted as the "way it is" for 2-3 months, I am quite familiar with unemployment.

I do not know about Alaska but in Vermont you can take a job paying up to 80% of the original wage and working up to 35 hours per week and still collect a fair portion of their unemployment. This also extends their benefit period. Many guys take a job at a grocery store, Lowe's, Home Depot, snow plowing, driving a cab, etc. and end up making MORE than when they were working. Others bust their @ss during the spring, summer, fall, save some money during the time they can work 16 hours a day, and take a 2 month vacation. Especially now with unemployment direct deposit they just run on off to Florida or the Carolinas, live in an extended stay motel or a camper, do some odd jobs for cash and take the unemployment out of the ATM. With seasonal layoffs and a "return to work" date they do not have to job search and can call in their claim each week on their cell phones or do it on a computer. I am not saying "good or bad" just how it is.

I rarely get laid off but work is slow and I would gladly take a voluntary lay-off in the winter and head out of here for two months, but that is when the kids are in school and Alla has been up until now. I may still do it this winter.

The ones that are offensive to admin are taken care of by the VJ censor thing that won't let you call a cat a #####. The rest are completely arbitrary, depending on which Facebook group you belong to.

And what? So money should be confiscated from my pay, from my family and given to someone else? That's just bullsh*t. I canceled my TV because TV sucks and I should never have subscribed to it again. I knew it was a bad idea. We are back to Redbox for our movies which is the only thing we watch anyway. No ipod, no smart phone (my cell phone is a rotary dial model)

LOTS of people live paycheck to paycheck. The rent is due and kablooie, there goes everything. And when the ipod is sold and the phone cut off, then what? Also you NEED a car for work. And many times the insurance and maintenance make it more of a liability.

First of all, you don't NEED a car for work. You don't need a phone. You don't need a cell phone. You need the drive and determination to get and keep a job.

Secondly, folks who live paycheck to paycheck are often doing so because they bought things like ipods when they should've been saving money.
