Sorry, but Sarah Palin is too dumb to be president, as was George W. Bush. Palin took on Biden, but she didn't win that debate. It was considered a mild moral victory for her because she managed to not make a complete fool of herself. If that is your standard for a candidate and for America, I feel sorry for you.

On this same topic though, I was pleased to see the "Peace and Freedom" protesters back on Church Street in Burlington. They had a war protest EVERY day until Obama was elected and then disappeared. Go figure. But now they are back and hopping mad at Obama. Holy ####### if the hippies in Burlington are mad at him he is done!

Thats a very simple way of looking at things. I hope that they do keep up protests and get Obama to actually bring our troops home. However, when it comes election time, unless he miraculously decides not to run again, he will be the democratic candidate and if the choice is Obama or Perry, that's not much of a choice, for anyone, but in the end, I imagine a lot of people will vote Obama. I might actually have to vote for him this time, Perry is just a horrible candidate.

Steven, I think you forget that Reagan was divorced as well. Ultimately, if she does get divorced, it would depend on the circumstances that led to it. If her husband filed for divorce because he found home made porn videos of her running a gang bang, then yeah, that might disqualify her from running. But if it is "irreconcileable differences", not so much.

The Teabagger Republicans aren't the same Reagon Republicans of 30 years ago, and if they are, they've gone way over the edge. Palin's support comes primarily from religious fundamentalists who see everyone who isn't like them a threat to their existence and this country. They are extremists who have projected lofty ideals onto Palin as someone who epitomizes their warped sense of what is good in this world. Anything about Palin that deviates from those ideals will shatter the halo they've put over her head.

Why wouldn't they elect a Dem woman to take Kennedy's place? Democratic women get rejected over and over and it is getting pretty evident that it is sexism.

He is on the left, you are on the right. An extreme at either end is just as unpalatable as the other. I am not suggesting a "moderate", that is just a nothing. A oerson that has no beliefs. I want a person that has beliefs, strong ones, but they do not follow the template of either what we call right or left.
