Good Morning fellow RUB'ers,

I would like to know specifically what forms/instructions come in Packet 3 from the U.S. Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine?

I am already aware of where to download the forms here --> http://ukraine.usembassy.gov/visa-forms.html

1. Instructions for K Visa Applicants (PDF)

2. KEV-1 Form (PDF)

3. Medical Examination for Immigrants And K Visa Applicants (Fiance/E and Spouse) (PDF)

4. Photograph Requirements (PDF)

5. DS-156K: Nonimmigrant Fiance(e) Visa Application

6. DS-156: Nonimmigrant Visa Application

Does Packet 3 also come with the DS-230 form as well? --> DS-230: Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration

I am just curious, since I hear that sometimes Packet 3 never arrives and I do not want to waste any time.

Also, when I receive my KEV# from the NVC and when my fiance has all of her documents complete, can she schedule an interview at that time? I have already sent her my copy of the I-129F packet, the I-134 form with evidence, and evidence of a continued relationship since filing the I-129F.

Currently, my fiance has everything done in regards to passport photos, police records, vaccination records, and translations. She has also practiced with the DS-156, DS-156K, and DS-230 forms already with her English teacher. She is only waiting for my documents to arrive (which are currently in Kiev right now via FedEx at the time of this writing) and to get the KEV# so she can schedule her medical exam.

I believe I have read all of the guides and tips but could not find any specific details in regards to Ukraine for Packet 3 so this is why I am asking here. Do we have all of our ducks in a row?

Thanks for your help.

Dustin

K-1 applicants in Ukraine do not have to fill out DS-230 (in Russia we have to, in Ukraine they don't require it).

She will have to call the embassy to schedule the interview in about a week after you reseive the KEV# and the paperwork leaves NVC.

Correct. However Kiev usually takes 2-3 weeks to get it in the system after you have the NVC number, but you can try after 1 week. Kiev updates on Fridays after the call center closes. So call on Monday mornings, if they do not have the case, wait until the next Monday to call again.

You can download all the forms from the website. Read the instructions and it tells you what forms you need. You can also download them at this website. You do not need anything from the consulate, we never did receive our packet 3

Sounds like you are like me and trying to get your ducks in a row. Alla and Gary have a lot of good advice. I did not see the I-864, Affidavit of Support on the list? I was told to have it. Also, I am not sure of the time it takes to get the medical exam (it has to be done in Kiev at one specific place), they are good for one year, as soon as the visa hits the NVC, it should be done before the interview. From what I know, sounds like you have your ducks :)

The 864 is used for AOS. The 134 is for the interview; aslo follow the Guides here. Work the two together, Kiev Embassy website takes precedence.

The I-864 is not used for K-1s. Use the I-134. This instruction is in the KEV-1 instructions

The medical can be scheduled when you have your KEV number from NVC. You can do it the day before the interview if you want. Fiancees who have to travel to Kiev often do that.

Good idea! I was originally thinking about doing two separate trips. I didn't know you could do the medical so close to the interview. Have you heard of any problems in the past of people doing the medical the day before the interview?

I did my medical the day before the interview in Russia. No problems at all.

I'm sure that 99.9% of the time doing the medical exam in Kiev the day before the interview is solid advice. We are thankful that Lena went 1 month before her interview because she was forced to return the next week for 3 consecutive days for AFB sputum tests (TB screening). Apparently the good doctor there saw a questionable spot in one lung. She was cleared after the additional testing the following week and she had her interview 3 weeks later as scheduled. Always plan for the unexpected. Good luck!

and their is a reason why it is not on the list. i would question those who told you. for consulate purposes the medical is good for 6 mos. not one year.

YMMV

Right, You need to be sure that everything is fine with your health before you schedule the medical the day before the interview.

I knew I was fine, cause I had to do TB screening for the university every year.
