Why is it OK with anyone that illegals can be exploited for profit?

Why not? It's capitalism - they are not slaves and are free to go home if they don't want to be "exploited".

I think

Gary is still working under the impression all these illegals are make 4

bucks an hour.

Granted they work cheaper which drives wages down but it's not in the realm of exploitation.

Honest answer, I would like to see a politician use it.

So that is why it is OK with you?

Minimum wage is not the only law being violated. OSHA laws. Workmans comp laws. Just to name two. Workman's comp premiums in Vermont for roofers right now are about 60% of payroll! You apy a guy $10 per hour and you pay the state $6 per hour. If the worker is injured he has an income (66% of the past 6 months gross) to cover his family and payment of all related medical expenses. An illegal alien will save you 60% on payroll and too bad for them if they get hurt.

Wages, and the difference between minimum wage and not minimum wage are so small as to not even be part of the issue. At equal wages a LEGAL worker costs more than twice as much as an illegal worker in most of the industries which employ them. That is why they are employed in those industries.

Why are you against eliminating the REASON illegals are here and prefer to deport them?

The fact that I was off one digit tells you how incomprehensible the amount of dollars is that it would cost to deport all of the estimated 11 million illegal aliens. Therefore, we, and with "we" I don't mean the President, but We The People, the taxpayers, have to find a solution.

Solution1:

Every taxpayer will pay an extra $1,000 "deportation tax" per year from now on. We have roughly 150,000,000 taxpayers, that would bring in 150 billion dollars per year, a good start to hire more personal for the border patrol.

Are all of you willing to spend an extra $1K per year on that? If so, do you think that we would have a super majority in this country voting for this?

Solution 2:

We realize that we can only deport a certain percentage of the estimated 11,000,000 illegal aliens. That means we have to find a solution for those who are the least of a problem/bother to the American people. This would be children and young adults who went to school in the U.S. and grew up here. That's why the DREAM Act is really a legislation that addresses this group. They will have to pay a fine and get in line for residency. Do we have to like that? No, we don't. But we can't afford not to.

By all means, name a Solution 3, but also address how we can pay for it and how it can pass Congress.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Oh, please.

126 billion is a rounding error these days.

Solution 3:

Execute illegals on sight. I'm guessing 10,999,999 will run for the border. For free.

Option 3A Impose a tax of $500,000 per day per illegal employed wiping out any business that employes them. Confiscate and sell for taxes any property. Employment will cease and desist tomorrow, all the illegals will walk home the next day. No need to pay for it, it is a revenue source

Option 3B If you do not have balls for that, implement a $10,000 tax credit for every LEGAL employee to be applied to the company or idividual's tax return. refundable even if no tax is owed. Employment will cease within 3 months, all the illegals will walk home the day after they lose their job. The savings in unemployment, services for illegals, and education of illegal's children will more than make up for the tax credits and the additional taxes collected from LEGAL workers will result in a net gain

I like that you're thinking economically but let me propose,

Solution 4: Tighten the noose (figuratively speaking) by passing laws which makes it more and more difficult for them to function here.

That and the Bolsheviks deported millions of people and it didn't seem to be a problem for them. This country has become a bunch of pansy's. Shoot a bunch of em in public and see what the rest do. Meanwhile we need a wall on our southern border. It would have paid for itself by now if we had built it a decade ago.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Look where being politically correct has gotten this country so far. It's drove us down, down, and down. Sometimes stern measures need to be taken.

I have never been accused of being politically correct. I am all for stern measures. Not stupid ones. A wall is as stupid now as it was in the 1930s. It did not keep Germany out of France and it will not keep Mexicans out of the US. It is a smoke screen designed to LOOK like something is being done.

Illegal immigration is an economic problem and needs an economic solution. Nothing else will work because nothing else addresses the PROBLEM.

We do not have much illegal immigration from Canada because there is no economic reason to illegally immigrate from Canada. Except for the French signs I can barely tell when I am even IN Canada. Lifestyle, incomes, living standards are all so identical that there is no huge demand to flow one way or the other, it is like two balanced bodies of water.

As long as there is an advantage to coming to the US from Mexico, people will come. You cannot stop them. A wall between Mexico and the US will not reduce illegal immigration any more than a wall between the US and Canada would reduce illegal immigration. Illega; immigration between the US and Canada is controlled by economic reality and it works perfectly. We need to do the same with Mexico. Eliminate the economic advantage not by shooting illegals but by "shooting" (so to speak) any US employer that will hire them. For what reason would they come if there is no one that will take the risk of hiring them?

Instead of building the wall we pull our troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan and pay them to guard it. And by "guard" I mean final protective lines.

I don't know the official numbers of how many peeps made it from East Berlin into West Berlin after the Wall was built, but I'm going to guess it was a lot less compared to how many illegals make it across the US-Mexican border in one month. So ya, that wall will work/help.
