While I've been on this site for a short period of time. It is my understanding that all the timeline is solely from the people who register and provide their timeline but not from the USCIS source. It is possible that you went down because some people just registered but submitted their K-1 before you, while others just getting into updating their timelines.

Don't get yourself tight to this timelines.

Good luck on your journey

Timeline

There are new members joining every day and filling out their timelines. If they have filed their petitions before you it seems as if your number on Igor's list is getting higher.

As Oksana and Max already said, the info is provided by members.

On a personal note, I found Igor's list to be more accurate when a 100 or more members from each month had filled out the timeline, and remembering to update it. The more the merrier : )

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

Click timeline or "about me" for all details.

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

The information here is mostly a culmination of people's experience. That is what we do here, share our stories, ask questions, and rant and rave if we need to. You shouldn't take everything here at face value, not everyone knows the right answer. I have unknowing answered questions wrong on here, but fortunatly someone seems to always come along to correct another's mistakes and everyone learns.

As far as the timelines go, the previous posters are correct. The timelines are averages based on the members personal timelines. You cannot use them for accurate projection, but they can help to give a basically a ballpark figure of when you should recieve an approval.

We wish you the best of luck on your journey!

That is correct. Timelines change because information input changes. ANY of these timelines are nothing more than an educated guess, heavy on the guess. Trying to actually plan anything from them is like trying to choose a date for a bar-b-q based on the weather prediction in Farmers Almanac for next July 4th.

Most of the stress in life is from unrealistic expectations. Be careful about that.

Imagine you have 5 clocks in your house. One says it is 8:36pm another says it is 8:34, two say it is 8:37 and one that is probably way out of whack says it is 8:39. OH NO! What time is it? Simple, choose one you like and throw out all the other clocks.

Go look at your timeline right now. Note the date. NEVER look at it again. NEVER look at any other timeline in any place for any reason. You now have your projected adjudication date. Your stress will be gone. Go paint the bathroom

You know, it's the same feeling I'd get when waking up in the middle of the night in a struggle to keep my eyes away from the clock. Can...not..look...garrrh... Oh, I looked, dang it!

Basically, you're spot on with what the timeline estimates is doing when being obsessive about them.
