AIRMILES help! Transferring AirMiles?

Alright, so for our flights and hotel for Montreal for our interview, we've had some people in his family offer up some of their AirMiles, so we don't have to shell out the $1500 or so. Now the question is, is it {a} possible to transfer AirMiles between accounts? I know on NWA WorldPerks you can transfer a certain number of miles a year between accounts, but can't find anything like that on the AirMiles site. And {b} if no transferring, is it possible to purchase a plane ticket/hotel reservation under the name of another person that isn't the primary collector? For example, would it be possible for his mom to redeem her AirMiles to purchase a plane ticket with my name on it?

HI FUNNY I WAS WONDERING ABOUT AIRMILES ALSO, YOUR BEST BET IS TO CALL THEM BECAUSE I DO KNOW THAT YOU CAN TRANSFER THEMPROBALLY EASIEST TO PUT THEM ALL ON ONE CARD THEN DO THE BOOKING. IF YOU HAVEN'T BOOKED A HOTEL YET THE SHERATON IS NICE AND YOU CAN WALK TO EMBASSY FROM THERE, PLUS GREAT SHOPPING ON ST CATHERINES STREET. I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG YOU ARE STAYING THERE BUT YOU GET VISA THE NEXT DAY, MAKE IT A POINT TO GO TO OLD MONTREAL ITS WONDERFUL VERY ROMANTIC IF YOU HAVE YOUR SWEETIE WITH YOU. Yes its possible, I think you have to actually use the telephone to do it tho, rather than book travel on-line. My Aunt & Uncle buy my Grandmother airline tickets all the time so she can go back to England for a visit. My Uncle travels a lot for his job, so has a surplus of aeroplan miles.

My girlfriend used her Airmiles to book a flight for me to visit my SO as a Christmas present. Don't know about transferring them though.

This is a late response but yes you can transfer miles. You can also purchase additional miles if necessary. I did this for Darcy. I transferred my miles to him and purchased a few extra to equal the free flight. I had to purchase extra because there is a maximum amount you can transfer. It was still cheaper than booking a full roundtrip ticket.
