K1 visa fee gone up in September?

So my fiancee just went and paid the fees for her and her daughter at BPI. The teller told her that the visa fees have gone up in September. The teller was also kind of confused and asked her manager if this was correct. My fiancee had to pay 16,770 for hers and 15,050 for her daughter who is 3. That's roughly $400 for hers and $375 for the other I'm guessing.

I'm a little confused by this. The websites say nothing about fees going up and even the email I received from the embassy says $350 per applicant. We'll be calling the embassy tomorrow for clarification. Anyone else heard anything about this that maybe I'm missing?

The fees in dollar will remain the same. It's just the foreign exchange that changes. I noticed the the Peso value is going up. But yeah you may contact the embassy about it.

The fees have not gone up in September. They were already adjusted recently to $350 with notice all over the place from VJ to USCIS website. It was widely announced. They wouldn't up the fees again without a wide announcement.

According to the state department source: http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1263.html

The visa fees for K-1 visa is $350.

This could be a difference in the exchange rate. However you also said that they charged different amount for your fiancee and a kid?

I would check with embassy on that.

Yeah this is the part that confuses me...why there are 2 separate prices for 2 visas. We'll be calling in the morning and I'll see what they say

Current exchange rate is 43.47 to USD, so $350 should be approx. PHP15,214.50.

Sounds like the lower fee is spot on at 43 to the USD.

Yeah my math was way off this morning. ;) Still going to look for an answer on why the price difference between 2 paid at the same time though...and why BPI is saying "k1 visa fees have gone up in September".

the visa apllication fee for the K-1 Visa and the K-2 Visa should be the same amount.
