Men get put in JAIL when they can't afford to pay child support, but women get rewarded with a WELFARE CHECK.

There were no kids involved...thank god. When I caught her fcking around on me, she called 911 with a bogus story. Straight to jail no questions asked. Then come court time to see who got what...

If you went to court after "beating her" then it's no wonder why they felt sorry for her.

she got the new car, the house, and I got a 1982 pick up and the property we had in Washington state that had a whole two years equity, yet the house she got was less than 15 years from being paid off. I made almost twice the money she made up until that last two years yet the court didn't give two sh*ts about that. It's rigged.

Appeal.

The courts favor the ####### 90+% of the time.

I favor ####### 100% of the time!

I read an article recently that forced me to vote Yes. Basically you had a Veteran who had paid up through 2009, lost his job and stopped paying for about a year. He was taken to court, where he explained all of this and stated that he was going to be starting a new job soon and needed one month to get his finances back in order. He was thrown in jail instead. (I'm guessing he lost that job as a result - funny that the judge basically screwed both him and the mother over by doing that).

In the same article, another veteran who was so depressed by the whole situation he went to the courthouse and poured petrol on himself. He then lit himself on fire.

Apparently this is happening in many southern states.

Yes, the system is corrupt.

He should have poured it on the judge instead.

Seriously are you from Ohio or something?

When you lose everything how do you afford to pay for an "appeal" ? Better yet what are the chances of winning an appeal? Try like slim to none. This is planet earth were talking about, not Mars.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Yes, most people really dont understand all of the issues unless you have been personally through it. If you have a vindictive ex spouse, they can put you through hell in court and the system allows it wihout any consequences.

 It sure is.

Even when we get 50-50 custody, we still get screwed. I've got buddies getting totally hosed by this #######. You could make 50,000 a year. The mother could make 45k a year. You could split an 800 dollar a month daycare bill. BUT still end up having to pay an additional 3-500 a month for 1 kid. In addition to getting totally f'd on the house, debts, savings, cars, pension, 401K.......... oh and the best for last is: if you're married long enough and she never remarries she can come haunt you at social security time.

It's all BS!

Yes, my ex-wife will never get a job (at least not on record) since she knows how to play the game. She has been living the easy life of a retired person alone in a house thats worth over 3 times as much as mine currently.

The guy is a moron. Who pays child support and who qualifies for welfare is based on who has primary custody of the child. A father with sole custody of his child, for example, can go after the mother of the child for child support payments.

What are the stats on who (mom or dad) have custody of the child? I'm sure it has got to be around 50 to 1.

I don't know any welfare kings that are stay at home dads collecting welfare instead of working. Not even sure there is a term "welfare king"...

Like Why_Me said, I personally know of many men that go to prison (jail) for 30 days at a time for not paying child support...Never heard of in my lifetime a women going to prison over not paying child support. Matter of fact, never heard of a woman paying child support.

You should unfriend this person, having him on your feed is going to kill your brain cells slowly.

He's a really smart guy. He was actually quoting a friend on his list...

I have primary legal and physical custody of my 3 kids from my 1st marriage. When we had 50-50 custody I had to pay her 575 dollars a month, plus all extra curricular activities, carry health insurance, daycare, etc. She was getting subsidized daycare assistance for the days she had the kids. She eventually went off the wagon and became involved with an ex con drug dealer. I went to court and got custody of the kids. She went 9 months without seeing them, she now only gets supervised visit's once a week and doesn't show up to half of them.

Her child support payment to me is supposed to be 315 a month. I had to pay 575 to have them half and can collect only 315 when having them 99% of the time. Since January 2009 I have rec'd @1800 in child support. She has never spent a day in jail or been found guilty of contempt once. I have buddies if they fall 2-3 months behind **click click** off to county jail they go. She now receives welfare for herself and the new kid she has, but can't pay for her previous ones? It is ridiculous and there's an obvious double standard.

One inappropriate comment has been removed along with several posts quoting it.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I have to blame the dudes some of the time on this. If that's what the ex is doing, take her @$$ back to court.

Once again, fight for custody if you don't like the arrangement.

Case in point.

Been there, done that! The posts on here pointing to the overwhelming BIAS in favor of mothers are absolutely right! Those of you who assume it is simply a matter of fighting for custody or filing an appeal haven't got a clue!!! There may be some enlightened and fair judges in some jurisdictions. Definitely not here! I could tell you horror stories, both my own and friends of mine.

I wouldn't dismiss it until you've read the article.
