They will take them again when you enter the USA, at the airport. I would think they compare to make sure you are the same person. If there is a security check/ AP, they may also run your finger prints.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

At the consular or embassy stage why is fingerprints taken before getting interviewed?????

Security Checks... helps to give a more positive ID of the person and I love it.. it's to controll these people and sort out any criminals who might be in the system already.. - yes.!

Also to help eliminate the people who fraudulently try to obtain a visa........

Thanks to all your response but im looking for a more solid answer and not a guess...

This is a MESSAGE forum comprised of OPINIONS and GUESSES - and facts as the members know them, based on our experiences -

Why don't you email the embassy and ask them if you are so interested in the process? They have a facebook page - contact them directly so they can give you the solid answer.....
