I just tried calling the Dept of State. I was unable to speak wiht a human being. It is so frustrating. Then I tried about 10 minutes later, and got a recording that I had EXCEEDED the number of calls to the office! I called ONCE! Thuis whole process is a joke. The only agency where I was easily able to reach a real, live person was the National Visa Center. Why do they make it so hard for us???? todd....

Ours was about 2 weeks, some I have seen are about a month, see the Time lines here on VJ. Keep trying, September is the end of the Fiscal Year for them, seems to have been slow.

Are you sure you were calling the right DOS number? And were you pressing the right prompts?

When I called DOS, I had no problem speaking with a live operator. I might have had to wait a few minutes to get connected as they're busy sometimes, but it was always a human.
