I have emailed Guanzhou a few times and they have yet to find my K1 petiton. It was sent from NVC on August 9. That is 5 weeks ago. I called the NVC and they said they do not have a tracking number for me to use.

I thought i read here at some point, that there was a way to track it through DHL? How do I find this number? thanks so much....todd

Easiest way to track is wait a month or so, then call DOS visa services, and talk to an operator, the can tell you status at consulate. (202) 663-1225

Also when dealing with GUZ consulate I highly recommend: http://candleforlove.com that site has extensive information for the consulate in China.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I found the following information from the other thread in this forum and I found it's very useful. I have successfully tracked

the DHL package sent by DOS to the consulate.

Once you find the tracking number using this method, you could even add your email address to the package and they will send you

an email whenever there is an update for the package. This is very cool.

Go to www.dhl.com clicked Express then Tracking, then Track by Shipper's Reference, on this page you add your search info..You change the day and month to what you think yours might have left NVC.

If the package is not found, make sure to try 2011B or 2011C. I found mine using 2011B instead of 2011A.

EXAMPLE:

* Shipper´s Reference : EXP 24 MAR 2011A

* Date range for shipment - From: 23 - 03 - 2011

* Date range for shipment - To: 26 - 03 - 2011

Account Number - Leave this blank

Shipment Destination: China / You Choose your Country

We are in same black hole

If you track this DHL waybill - 8788255490 - it is about the same time and is stuck in clearance delay. In using the tracking method above this this only package that is stuck around your timeframe (and mine) using the shipper's reference method of tracking.

Sending a message via the consulate webpage does not yield any better results as they just replied with the following:

Please be advised that we have not yet received your beneficiary's file. We will start processing the case as soon as we receive the fie, and will mail an instruction packet to your beneficiary.

An approved K1 visa petition is valid for a period of four months from the date of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) action, and it may be revalidated by the consular officer, provided the officer concludes that you and your beneficiary remain legally free to marry and continue to intend to marry each other within 90 days after she goes to U.S.

During my last call to the DOS, the person said it could take a long as 3 months for packages to clear customs into the PRC
