The important thing to know is that, the K1 visa goes with 100% poverty guideline and not 125%. The later comes into play when adjusting status when the i-864 form would be needed for 125% poverty guideline..

As I said in another thread where you 'corrected' me, most consulates still go by the 125% guideline since that is amount that will be needed for AOS. Telling everyone they only need 100% is not going to help most people, and could mean someone gets denied their K-1 because they didn't know they needed to show more income. Everyone should check with their own consulate to know for sure what the requirements are where they will interview. However, since you will need 125% very soon after you get married within 90 days of arriving in the US, it is best to have sufficient income or a co-sponsor lined up before AOS rolls around. If you only have 100% at the K-1 level, how will you file for AOS without having at least the 125% that is needed?

if there are only 2 of you in the household then 40K/year income is sufficinet enough thus, there's no need for a co-sponsor. So, stop worrying about the co- sponsor thing Goodluck!
