I have been driving myself crazy for the past month stressing over this process. We are currently in the AP portion and it is the hardest part to be at..I think. I have been talking to my fiance about "what are we going to do? What if they deny us? What if it takes a year or more? What if, What if, What if?!?!?!?"

Well, tonight I just had to tell myself...EVENTUALLY you WILL get an answer. If the answer is yes, Awesome! If the answer is no, then I'm moving to Iran...either way it will work out in the end.

It is just so hard during ALL this to remember it....you have two people who love each other so very much and our lives or on hold. He can't do anything because he is unsure of the when and if...it is hard for me to anything because I can not fully concentrate on studying...and I'm always sad....life just sucks right now!

How are you coping? Any advice or stories of what has helped you would be great!!

I will just say first take a couple of deep breathes yes this journey can stress the hell out of you. But that is only if you let it. It's hard to concentrate on anything else but you got to keep busy and proactive. I just filed and its only been a month I'm not going to drive my self crazy checking USCIS website when I know the processing time can well go over into 6 months. What do I do well Iam blessed to have great friends who make me laugh and uplift when the days are tough. I go to church and try to get in any activity I can. Saving money for the AOS stage and just putting money away for rainy days. Find a hobby, Prayer listen to music go for a run go see a funny movie heck even stay off visajourney for a while. But driving yourself crazy is not going to make things move faster. Even though moving to your fiance/ee country is an option if that's what we all wanted as the answer in the end we wouldnt even being going through this process. So keep faith keep your head up and be patient. It will be over before you know it!

Hi,

It is too early to get stressed. Ours took 86 days. Unless he had a sensitive job, government, Nuclear energy or traveled a lot around the world, it will take close to 3 months. There is nothing you can do but wait. Don't think about being denied. If there was a problem with the case you would know at the interview. If you got this far, he will get the visa, if his background is clean.

One more thing, when you go to get the visa which is only on Sundays, they will tell to come back next Sunday. 98% your visa is ready next Thursday. You can go back and check if you don't want to stay there the extra three days.

Good Luck.

so,we had our interview july 6th in turkey, and my then fiance,my mother and i all went.we knew that we would get APed,no questions asked, but just to be on the safer side,my husband decided to take an extra week of leave to spend in turkey with us,since he had to inform his work before hand. so i go in,first off the place was freezing cold,so i was stuttering when it was my turn.second of all,the lady asked about my husbands layovers and where he got his ticket from and blah blah blah,so i thought she knew that we had one more week to spend in turkey after the interview.so all went well,i got APed,we spent the week in turkey,i came home, unpacked and low and behold, two days after i arrived before my husband got to check in at work,my name was cleared and i had to go back and get my visa.from what ive heard it almost ALWAYS takes as long as they tell you it will take.in my case the lady told me it would take up to two weeks and i got it before two weeks were up

Well, I don't remember the CO telling him how long the wait would be..if she did she gave the generic 2 week story....All she said was to check the website. We are over a month now and still waiting...I know we have at least a 3 month wait....so count your blessings girly

as you can see from our timeline we had our interview in May and have been in AP since then, despite being told by the embassy multiple times that this will be processed before the 3 month period and that we were approved. truth be told, i dont have any advice because im not coping well. the things I try to do include breathing alot and trying to relax but mostly i just wake up every day feeling angrier and more hopeless than the day before. Just like you said, if they approve us, he will be moving here, if they deny us, we are moving to a different African country so that I can work and he can work and go to school. At this moment, I dont know what to do and I know that there are people who have been waiting considerably longer than four months, but I am close to my breaking point and am not opposed to leaving if I have to.
