Hi there,

Me and my husband have pretty much everything filled out and ready to go on out AOS packets I-130 & I-485.

The only thing thats a little more difficult to get is the Bona dife Marriage Part.

The only thing we have are a lease showing joint tenancy of common residence (renting room out in sisters home)

Affidavits from sister brother in law, friends, husbands boss.

And millions of pictures.

we are a fairly new couple and Young above all so we dont have any joint ownership or property

hopefully soon but probably not before we send any papers out we're planning on buying a car. But ofcourse thats not till we have enough $$

we wanted to open up a bank account with both of our names but we have heard that you need a SSN which I do not have yet ofcourse.

we want to wait till were both a little more older and financially set to have babys, so no birth certificates.

Any help??

I am in the same boat as you and would love to hear some more suggestions. From another thread I was reading previously today perhaps you have photos up on Facebook of your wedding that your friends commented on, you can print those out as well.

Cell phone bills would be another easy one if you have a couple/family plan under both names.

Not all banks require a social security number to open an account ... I banked with HSBC but when my fiance got here they said I couldn't add him to my account because he didn't have a SSN yet... I asked around at a few other banks, and we found one that doesn't require a SSN for him to be added..

Call around to banks in your area as each branch may have it's own policies. The branch where I usually do my banking won't allow anyone to open an account without an SSN - I heard it straight from the branch manager, but other people have said that their branch of the same bank did allow it.

The reason that banks usually require an SSN is because transactions of $10,000 or more have to be reported to the IRS. Some banks will allow you to open a restricted account that won't allow any transactions over this amount.

Definitely call around. My husband and I were able to open an account at Citibank before he had as social. Their rule (at least at the 2 branches we went to) was that I had to be the primary on the account holder, but he could be added as a user.

Good point on the driver's licenses! My license had my old address while my husband's had our new one (since he had gotten his license after we moved), and the IO specifically asked to see my change of address card from the DMV to show the licenses were the same (not a problem since I had changed it, they just mail you a card to keep with you).
