VISA Approved -- WooHoo!!!!

My wife's VISA was approved :dance::dance: -- quick 5 minute interview...

Questions included:

1. Husband's name, occupation, place of employment, family information, place of residence

2. Your family information

3. A lot of questions around dates (marriage, divorce, kid's b'days, anniversaries, last met etc.)

4. (In our case) Reason for divorce for both parties

5. What do you do right now, where do you stay? Not with in-laws? Why not?

They did NOT require DS-230 part II to be signed. She did have her fingerprints taken though...

Thanks everyone on VJ for all the support and encouragement. Dunno how I would have made it without you guys...

2006-07-24: NOA2

2006-07-31: Case received by NVC

2006-08-01: Case leaves NVC to New Delhi Consulate via DHL

2006-08-04: Case received by New Delhi Consulate

2006-08-23: Got interview date (email and telephone confirmation)

2006-09-23: Picked up Passport with VISA from Blue Dot courier office (VFS did not hold it)

2006-02-27: NOA1

2006-05-03: NOA2 (Approved)

2006-06-12: Received and entered into NVC system

2006-07-08: Self Generated DS-3032 and sent to NVC

2006-07-08: Received I-864 bill from attorney

2006-07-11: Paid I-864 bill

2006-07-12: Received IV bill

2006-07-17: Receive I-864 package

2006-07-19: Send back I-864 package

2006-07-19: Pay IV bill (was out on vacation)

2006-07-31: Sent in self-generated DS-230 (after NVC was ready)

2006-08-03: Case being reviewed by NVC (per operator)

2006-09-12: Case sent to New Delhi Consulate

2006-10-04: Emailed Consulate and got Original Interview Date (10/20/06) posponed to April 2007

REMOVING CONDITIONS

11th Aug 2008 - Mailed I-751 to CSC.

12th Aug 2008 - Application received

14th Aug 2008 - Cheque cashed

18th Aug 2008 - Received NOA-dated the 12th

26th Aug 2008 - Received Biometrics letter

4th Sept 2008 - Biometrics-Detroit-Complete-'Touched'

5th Sept 2008 - 'Touched'

1st Dec 2008 - APPROVED-Card production ordered -112 days

8th Dec 2008 - USCIS mailed approval notice.

8th Dec 2008 - Received my 10 year Greencard in the mail. took 2 days.

Although I have the above date for approval my card actualy states the

2nd December..

They said that the visa will be delivered in a few days -- nothing more. THis VFS ####### is really a PITA.

Wow, very happy to hear your good news, kpathak. As for the cleaning, I'm married to a Portuguese fellow who's very particular. If he saw the way I've been living almost 6 months, he'd be horrified. But you and I are excused, because of all the preoccupation and stress. We may need professional cleaners at this point!

Jersey Girl -- the wifey gets here next Thursday and the cleaning crew gets in on Tuesday (while I am at work and the kids are in school :-). I have told the kids -- don't even use the bathroom on Wednesday -- ask the neighbors if you can use theirs <ha! ha!> J/K.
