Few questions about ds-157, vaccines and tax forms

Just have a few questions on some things.

1. For the DS-157, isn't it basically the form for selective service in the u.s.? if so, then it should not apply to my fiancee, unless i'm misunderstanding something and she still has to send it in also.

2. For the vaccines, is the money we pay for the med exam going to cover all the vaccines she is required to have? if not, since i am active duty air force, can we wait until she get's here and all processed into the base to get them? or does she have to get them before arriving here?

3. And i printed off my last few LES's from mypay, but i'm curious can i use my W2 hardcopies for my proof of paying federal and state taxes? or do i have to get something from the irs or whomever. i would think my W2's would suffice, as it shows i paid my taxes, but again, maybe it's not that easy. i'm pretty sure i have copies of my tax return's and the paper's showing i paid my state taxes, but if i can't find them, guess will have to get them sent to me.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I can't answer your first question, but I think I can help with the other 2!

2) I think you would have to pay extra if she doesn't already have the required vaccines and she wants to get them before she comes to the US. However, fiances are not required to get their vaccines before coming to the US, they are just required to get them before they apply to get a greecard. See: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html#7

3) W2s are good, but you need to show your federal tax returns as well (they don't care about state taxes). You are technically only required to show 1 years worth of tax returns and W2s, but sometimes they request the past 3 years worth, to be ready. If you don't have your W2s AND tax returns, you can use IRS transcripts instead, which you can order for free here (just allow a few weeks for delivery): http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html#7

I would check with the medical institution she has to have the medical at., In the philipines the vacinations are part of the fee.

ok, well i guess i'll just tell her that when she goes to the exam, if they cost extra for the vaccines and she doesnt have to have them for the visa and can get them here before she does her AOS, i'll just have her wait. no reason to pay for something there when she can get for free here.

and for the W2's, they show that i've paid the federal and state taxes... just need to find my returns for the last 3 years. i'm pretty sure if i dont have them, my mother does. i just thought since you're supposed to show proof you paid the taxes, that was all you needed.

hopefully somebody can chime in on the DS-157.

oh well if thats the case, then guess we're good to go, if she can get them in the PI and its part of the med exam fee already. thanks!

so.. anyone have any insight on the DS-157 question?

and to add another question... since i'll be providing copies of my leave and earnings statement from military MyPay... do i REALLY need to have a letter from my commander or boss saying i'm in the Air Force? it has every bit of proof i'm military on that LES, so i would think not but maybe you really have to dumb it down for them???

DS-157 is only for MALE beneficiaries. As your fiance is female - she is not required to fill one out.
