The coming interview... I'm stressing out!

Hello everyone,

I am stressing out because my interview with my wife is coming in 3 weeks . I have two questions:

Firstly, I would like to know if it is a problem if my passport's wife will expire in five month and 27 days after the interview. Do we need to renew that?

Secondly, do my joint sponsor have to be present for the interview?

For the rest, I am not really worried... of course I am worried because I do not know what's going to happen, if they are going to lock me up for 25 hours and ask me bunch of questions about every single details of my life that I do not know about.

Which one of you is the petitioner? Either way, it does not matter if a passport is going to expire in the future. The joint sponsor does not need to be present but be sure to bring copies of all the financial evidence in case the IO does not have it for any reason.

it would be a good idea if your beneficiary gets a new passport from your country before she goes to the interview,when she come to the us and wants to return to her country for some reason she has a passport good for ten years to traval,if she don't get a new one she won't be able to travel, you can't get a us passport until your a us citizen, that can be 4 years or 5 and a half years,

Thank you Very much for your answers. To answer your questions, my wife is the US citizen, and I the beneficiary. I have my wife and the joint sponsor. She is the petitioner. My french UE passport is valid again for couple years. Hers will expire in 5 month and 27 days. that was my only concern. Yes, we intend to bring every single documents necessary.

Got it. No, she definitely does not need it renewed. As the USC, she does not have to show her passport at all (or even have one). Though if you want to travel soon after your interview (assuming approval), she may want to go ahead and renew it as many countries require 6 months left on a passport for visitors.
