I found this quite hilarious:

Hypocrisy claim over Cameron bike

Just goes to show how politics is all about branding these days. Is anyone going to fall for this? Or are they just going to laugh at "greenwashed" David Cameron cycling to his office with his chauffeur driven car following behind bearing his briefcase?

Hehehehehe I loved the Liberal Democrats offer - to buy him a carrier to attach to his bike so his chauffer doesn't have to drive the car with his papers and shoes behind him :-).

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Did you read the story? I like the part where they say he "conscientiously swapped" his Middle-of-the-road Vauxhall Omega, for a commercially leased luxury car. I'm sure the primary motivating decision for that was "lower emmissions". If he was that environmentally concerned, I'd be asking why he isn't driving to work in a Ford Fiesta?

Yes, I read the article. I noticed that he had swapped the Vauxhall for a Lexus too. I agree - there are definitely more environmentally sound cars on the road he could have chosen. I still like the idea of using the bike carrier though:-)! It did mention that his car carried some dress shoes and a change of shirt.

This really is hilarious. Looks like we're going to have to wait another election before there's something approaching an effective opposition in UK politics. And when Blair quits we'll all be at the mercy of Gordon Brown.

Scots Tory logo 'less to right'

The Scottish logo (left) is bigger and leans less to the right

The Scottish Conservatives have unveiled their version of the party's new tree logo. It is bigger than the English version, slightly darker - and the trunk does not lean as far to the right.

The Scottish logo was circulated without comment and the party declined to discuss whether the differences had any political significance.

When the logo was unveiled in England, one activist said it looked like it had been scribbled by a three-year-old.

Designers were paid £40,000 to replace the traditional torch emblem with an image representing "strength, endurance, renewal and growth".

Former Tory minister Lord Tebbit said it looked like "a bunch of broccoli".

An SNP spokesman said: "Scottish voters won't be fooled by a slightly less right leaning tree."

The tories calling themselves "Environmentally Concious" is not unlike the Wolf telling Little Red Riding Hood that he's a vegetarian.

Do they seriously think that after spending $60,000 on a ####### logo, that people will be inspired to trust them with the economy...

One solution (of many). Just google 'bicycle trailer'.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
