Hey guys so we filed our I-129f the other day, we are using a lawyer, (i know, i know) Anyways they mailed out our petition and gave us the USPS tracking number, my fiance is from and lives in California, so that means, we would be using the CSC right? Anyways the latest update from the tracking number is that it is being processed trough USPS in Texas?? The lawyer mailed this out from Los Angeles. Our case wouldnt have been forwarded to the TSC would it? and if it was, surely it wouldn't have the same USPS tracking number etc?

Any speculation welcome, im confused! Thanks guys!

All I-129f application first has to be send to the Dallas Texas lockbox and then forwarded to the service center. Your lawyer did right. It doesn't mean that your service center is Texas. Most probably, it is CSC.

no speculation needed, you are confused. the texas address for the petition is not the service center but a glorified mail room. they take your package, open it, put it in the system, assign a service center (csc or vsc), send the package to the service center

Can anyone answer that last question, what determines the service center which you get?

Yes you are right, it's based of where the petitioner lives. So it's most likely that yours will be forwarded to CSC.

Can anyone answer that last question, what determines the service center which you get?

It is based on workload at the adjudicating service centers. In the past cases have gone between Cali and Vermont. The geographic aspect is not always the final determinant.

Jeepers it does get confusing, I was living in Boston when I sent it and subsequently moved to Florida (changed address with USCIS) which in both cases (according to the list above) means I should be dealing with the Vermont service center, However my NOA1 stated that I am dealing with the California one :wacko: The good part of this confusion is that on the USCIS website the average processing times of the CSC & TSC are 5months whereas Vermont is 9. I am happy with that, I hope you get CSC and that your journey goes quickly, good luck, cheers
