Has Anyone Waited OVER 5 Months For Their NOA2?

I know this is not a real solution, but I wish that I could get a 2nd job working for them. ** I ** know what it is like to deal with the waiting and the silliness. I like to think that I would work more efficiently and productively than the average.

I used to deal with insurance referrals and verifications and that was such a mess. At the end of the day, I could leave between 7 minutes 'til and 7 minutes after. I always tried to throw in 2 more of the easy ones just to get them done and to get 2 people to their specialists faster. It was so stressful and really seemed to be non-productive. There was absolutely nothing to show for the work completed--only a list that I wrote in a spiral notebook to prove to myself that I was working my tail off.

I wonder how long it takes to actually input the information on each one or, perhaps, more correctly, to "process" one visa request. At a number at over 6 1/2 million visas applied for each year, I am genuinely curious at the numbers of employees, how much is automated, and other things.

Another thing to note, I work in a business where I have to ID many immigrant people. I'm guessing that at least once a month, someone tells me, "My birthday is xxx but they messed up my paperwork and my documents say that my birthday is yyy." They = either immigration or social security. Apparently, once it is written in type, it is set for life and that is your unchangable ID.

Sigh. Very heavy sigh.

Timelines are a tricky thing to read. We got our NOA2 in 2 months! And then waited 3 more for the interview Then another month for Alla to finish out her job If they had arrived any sooner I would never have been ready! For us our journey was exactly ONE YEAR (to the day!) because we spent months before filing to decide we wanted to do this AND get all the documents necessary for Alla and the children. Had we not been able, then I guess I would have been moving back to Ukraine.

It all fades away and means nothing now. You look back and say "that was nothing, THIS is hard" But by far the greatest adventure of my life. I have had many.

It is disapointing to read of all the people that waited so long and then it all falls apart right away and people want to divorce before the AOS or before the RoC...that's less than two years! But the first year and 1/2 are the hardest. It is much easier after that.

My wife is everything I ever imagined or dreamed of in a wife. Being married to her has been more difficult than I would have thought, and probably easier than for a lot of people because she DID speak English well when I met her. It just is not what we think about and I can tell you that those of you still waiting are not thinking about it, because I didn't and I thought of everything! There is just a LOT you have to do, and YOU have to do it, no one else can, really. Or at least no one else should.

I think for some people the reality is not the same as the fantasy...or the fantasy is there but it is not a fantasy 24/7. They say "my wife is not the same as when I met her" but they only met her when they were on vacation in a foreign country! Now she gets here and they have to go to work and she wants them to do something for her, and she was used to being with her man whenever she saw him and now he is gone to work and she is in a house with no one, cannot work, cannot drive, cannot get around because there is no bus or subway right outside the door like there was in Minsk or Moscow or Kiev and they are homesick and they cry and the man thinks "#######! you never cried in Minsk!" and they call you at work 8 times a day.

But make your wife number 1, and your children if you have them (Alla says "make the kids number 1 and me number 1.1" )and you will always be happy. It is, at once, the greatest opportunity you ever had to be a "Knight in Shining Armor" and win her forever loyalty and the best opportunity to mess up your life and hers. Choose wisely.

So, you will get your NOA2 and you will get your chance at all the fun, be patient. You are going to need SO much more patience, start practicing now.

You can get a job for them. A lot of people around here work for them and they are regular people. Human beings even! They use contract adjudicators, but I think you need to live close to one of the service centers, because as far as I know you actually go to the center and collect the files to process. Contracted adjudicators are used during heavy periods, which is pretty much always. As I have said before, a "clean" petition with a "clean" background check takes 20-25 minutes (I question why it takes THAT long to tell the truth) They basically complete a checklist and verify the background check is clear. Background checks source several different databases but do so all at once and by computer and take 30 seconds or so IF it is clear.

As far as mistakes, sure they make mistakes. I would take what you hear with a grain of salt though. How many of the applicants entered the wrong date? How many wrote illegibly? Corrections? Not so difficult...make an infopass appointment, but how may people do that?

have been waiting for over 2 months-almost 3 months here making me so frustrated.... I'd be totally mad as well if i were in your shoes. I'm thinking in my case it'll take long because of the background check? My fiance's been living in another country back and forth to his home country for a few years...

I'm coming up on 115 days and even though I'm still in my timeline range, I'm getting worried. I called to inquire back in the beginning of this month, and they told me that someone was working on it. But that still doesn't tell me anything.

This is much harder on my fiance than it is for me, and his pain is my pain....

I would imagine that if I hit 5 months I would be the same way.

Hi, this is Greg from Tampa, Florida. Yes, we had to wait for 5 months and 3 weeks. Granted, I did omit one quesiton. They sent me an RFE. I sent it back the next day. And it took another 8 weeks to get our I 129 approval. Some of the other VJ'ers told us that immigrations took the entire 6 months to approve their error free application. So it is not you.... they are taking forever. Keep the faith!!!!!

FYI, an RFE IS an adjudication and you were well under 5 months. They do not have a goal of "approving" you in 5 months, they have a goal of adjudicating your case in 5 months. "Adjudication" does NOT mean approval. If YOU made a mistake, too bad for you, all deals are off and they can take as long as they want to get it done after you respond.

You actually got your adjudication at about 4 months, your file was adjudicated to be deficient and you were sent an RFE.

One week from now on September 26, 2011. I will reach my 5 month limit. I received my NOA1 on April 26, 2011. I have still not received an NOA2! I called my Congressman and I have to wait till Monday to hear any news from him about our NOA2.

I am just completely pissed off right now because there's no one to tell me anything on why it's delayed. If I did anything wrong I should received a RFE by now. I have not received anything! I thought I was very detailed in preparing our I-129F. I followed the guides and had a relative (fellow VJer who is in the USA now after K-1 approval) look over our paperwork with me. I double checked, triple checked, I had everything neatly organized and had a table of contents and all that #######. I guess none of that matters... because I read posts on here where people don't even follow the guides and have barely enough evidence get approved in 3-4 months.

Anyway, sorry for ranting... I have not slept well for the entire month of September because of the whole NOA2 mess. My question is...

Has anyone ever go past the 5 months limit for K-1 Visa NOA2 approvals? Did they ever give you a reason for the delay?

I know of persons that waited over 6--7 mths before being approved . After my 5 mths mark --I had my senator put in a service request .I was finally approved in about 6 mths at VSC . Just hope for the best (5-6 mths )and expect the worse (7-9 mths .

If you look at the USCIS website the bar graphs show a spike or increase in Visa filing around May or June so i think thats why the slow down. I don't know what service center you have but for Vermont it still shows a 5 month target. Jim.

Of course an average is just that...an average. So for all those who receive their NOA2's after 60 days... there must then be an equal amount who wait 8 months to even it out. Statistically speaking!

But we should all pray for falling in the middle of the bell curve!

Hang in there! Thats all i can say. We filed the I-130 @ CSC in May and its only been 4 months. Beleive me when i say this everyday, every second is hard to pass. Dont know how long the wait if going to be. VJ has become me life for now. Just praying!
