Hi i was wondering if anyone knows anything definitive about the procedure for AP when filed through direct filing? What i mean is is it different from filing in the states in regards to when they place you in AP before or after interview?

The reason i ask is because i recently read a post from someone here who stated that at her husbands interview(she filed from states) he was approved and told that visa would arrive in 2 weeks and then it never arrived and she found he was in AP and read a recent post from vjer who like me filed direct who was told 2 weeks and received his visa in 3 days and i couldn't understand how he could go in AP and be out AND have his visa in 3 days. which makes me wonder if they do AP before the interview in those cases.

Does anyone know?

The case you are commenting on I think is mine?? Everything in our process went very smooth hamdullah. His interview went great only a few questions and we had lots of evidence and I have been to visit him a total of 8 times in 2 years. They took his passport and said we will send the visa and pay DHL when they deliver it. I think AP comes after the interview and this seems to be common in Cairo.... I am reading a lot of post where people are told congrats you passed and then are put in processing and don't find out till they call. It's very sad. We are from the same ethnic background, religion, lots of evidence, everything.... just a normal couple in their 20's who got married. Nothing unusual. The immigration office will only tell you that you are in processing and you just have to wait. They will not tell you what it is or why they are doing it but that you have to wait. I even emailed the embassy several times and they email you back only saying your in AP and they can't predict how long it will take. They never answer my questions. It's really wrong what they do to such normal couples. inshaallah its all over soon and they issue everyone's visas who have been frustrated and waiting patiently for a long time. God grant us patience.

Yup! Yours was the one i read but truly have read many others also that have had same experience. I have also read from ones that said they were told 2 weeks and they received their visa in 2 weeks so i dont know!

I check my case number under pending cases on embassy site and still nothing and use the tracking number from dhl but nothing.

Is their a way i can find out?

I wish that your ap ends soon so that you can be with your love and thanks for replying. keep in touch and let me know if you find out anything

take care
