will a previous participation in the Green Card Lottery cause a denial on the K1 visa during the interview??

No, not necessarily. Depending on other factors, there might be a higher suspicion that the immigrant entered into the relationship with the petitioner just to get to the US, but that won't be decided solely on the previous DV entry. Good evidence of a bona fide relationship can overcome that suspicion. Good luck.

Absolutely not.

While the K-1 is formally a "non-immigrant visa" (as strange as it appears), it is clearly a path to permanent residency. The fact that the beneficiary participated in the Green Card lottery before means nothing else than a desire to move to the United States. It's a non-issue, more than a non-issue in Frankfurt.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

How did you participate in the lottery in JANUARY 2011 when it closed in NOVEMBER 2010?

for the next year, 2013

Again, the period to apply for the 2013 doesn't open until October 4. I hope you didn't pay to enter the lottery as it's free to enter.

From state dept website:

Important Notice: DV 2013 Program - The online registration period for the 2013 Diversity Visa Program (DV-2013) will begin on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4), and conclude on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4). See the Diversity Visa Lottery Instructions webpage for more information

Fraud Warning

Fraudulent websites are posing as official U.S. government sites. Some companies posing as the U.S. government have sought money in order to "complete" DV entry forms. There is no charge to download and complete the Electronic Diversity Visa Entry Form. To learn more, see the Department of State Warning and the Federal Trade Commission Warning.

The Department of State does NOT notify successful DV applicants by letter or email. Entrants can check the status of their entries, as explained below, by returning to the website at http://www.dvlottery.state.gov to find out if their entry was or was not selected.

THe point is that the DV lottery is free. A company taking money to turn in your application is a scam, when the application is free.

i know that it is for free!!!!!but they offer u a service to do it for u. I am a paralegal, i think i know what i am doing :-)

Apparently not.

If you pay somebody for filling out a form that a retarded Chihuahua can fill out -- not even knowing if they even do it (as you do not get a receipt) -- you clearly don't know what you are doing. I participated in the Green Card Lottery for 14 years, until I finally was among the selected ones and never spent more than a few minutes per year submitting everything, so if you as a paralegal do not do this yourself, something is wrong with you.

No offense intended; just stating the obvious.
