Where do you buy your tickets going to US?

My wife interview is this coming Monday. Where do you buy or did you buy your ticket? Any recommended travel agency in the Philippines? I need to purchase a ticket for my wife or she can purchase it, once her visa approved... Traveling from MANILA(NAIA) to New York (JFK)... My priority airlines are Cathay are and Korean Air. For some reason, Korean Air won't let me search a flight on their web site because I live outside the region where I'm purchasing a ticket. However, I'm not actually purchasing a ticket, I'm just check for available flight and still won't let me... It's under Philippine Law raw... Hayyyy! Thanks in advance!

Korean Air won't let you book from any destination in the PI. You have to use a travel agent to do that. Or call them directly on the phone.

I did call Korean Air and they won't let me purchase a ticket also. They want my wife to purchase it or go to KOREAN Air office to purchase one. The thing is i want to see available flights or what flights are available but Korean air website doesn't allow it...

I just hate Delta/Northwest so much... I used them twice and both got stucked for 1 night at NARITA.... I hate their service! Delta is my last airline I'm going to use... I saw a cheap 1 way ticket offering by Delta...700+ tax included... I'm not surprised why it's so cheap... laughing.gif

You can also try EVA airlines. A guy I work with has traveled with them a few times. I just looked and they have a promo to Seattle for $350 one-way. If not for the problems we are having with the Manila Embassy I would be booking that flight.

I used onetravel.com for my wife's ticket. One thing to remember...if you dont buy a ticket from a travel agent in the PI, your wife will have to pay the travel tax at the airport. 1620 Php IIRC along with the terminal use fee of 750 Php.

29 March 2012 Received everything back...wrong fee. thought we didn't have to pay biometrics since we were sending fingerprint cards and passport photos.

30 March 2012 Sent everything out again from Aviano AB, Italy.

10 April 2012 Check cashed

17 April 2012 Received NOA1 dated 6 April.

06 Dec 2012 Received 10 yr green card. Letter said it was approved 28 November 2012.

Hello rhenzhen,

I'm done with my interview last Sept. 13th and I already had my visa on hand sept. 16th :dance:

Now, I'm planning to go to Manila for the CFO sticker and go to Reli tours. I already reserve my slot for the date I'll be leaving. I'll be traveling via PAL MNL-YVR-LAS for 620$ with first time immigrant discount including travel tax (1,620php)and of course except terminal fee which is 750php. Agencies need a photocopy of visa in her passport. She can not avail the discount without it. Good luck. :innocent:

I got mine from a friend who owned the travel agency. I got a pretty good deal and hassle free service and pretty quick too. If you need help, let me know!

3.21.2014: Received email notification with case # for both petitions; case forwarded to NBC for processing

3.21.2014: Check cashed

3.22.2014: Hard copy NOA1 received

4.08.2014: Both I-130 approved (notification received via email) - It only took three weeks!!!

4.11.2014: Received NOA2 approval notice in the mail.

5.01.2014: Called NVC to ask for status of paperwork. Advised they received both application on 4.28. Advised to call in 30 business days for an update.

6.02.2014: Email notification received from NVC that shows parents' NVC case number and instructions to pay AOS Fee and fill out DS 261.

6.03.2014: Paid AOS fee ($88 for both petitions)

I flew delta from Atlanta, GA to Manila and back no problems at all. I saw TONS of Filipino's on the flight back so they must be doing something right. An airline doesn't last as long and grow so large as Delta (no, I don't work for them) by sucking all the time. It's about 860 bucks from mnl to Atl, and a LOT cheaper if your just flying to the west coast. Sorry your experience was a bad one, it happens.
