I need some info regarding documents needed to show a Bonafide marriage...isn't our marriage certificate proof? or do we need our witnesses that were there with us at the Ethiopian Municipality to write up affidavits? thanks

The certificate is the primary source. We used affidavits from our witnesses (2) and pictures from the actual signing and the reception/invitations or announcements of the reception. Any ongoing or money transfers, emails, cards, letters, plane tickets as proof of visits, skype logs. All are sources of proof for a bona fide marriage. This list isn't exhaustive, just a starting point and it varies by case. Best of luck on your journey!

Hi rahel, In order to show a strong relationship u need to show them: Pics together, wedding pics with the family, and u'll need phone records and extract calls from skype or msn to show them that u've been in contact all the time, letters, emails, greetings cards, join bank account. Anything that can prove that ur marriage is truthful one not a fraud. Good look!

At USCIS stage all we had was the marriage certificate and three affidavits from people who knew us as a couple. They weren't people who were at the wedding as that was just us and my husband's daughter. We were approved with no RFEs but have been gathering evidence for the interview since we submitted the I-130.

01/27/2011 - Trevor's N400 submitted
02/18/2011 - Married
04/02/2011 - NOA1 hard copy received - priority date 03/30/2011
07/08/2011 - Trevor is now a USC - called USCIS to request upgrade of the petition.
08/02/2011 - NOA2
09/08/2011 - LND case number received, medical booked
09/26/2011 - Case complete at NVC
09/30/2011 - Interview date assigned
11/08/2011 - Interview - approved!!
11/10/2011 - Visa in hand
12/04/2011 - POE in Atlanta
12/12/2011 - SSN number received in mail
12/12/2011 - Welcome notice received
01/06/2012 - Green card received
09/06/2013 - File for Removal of Conditions
10/01/2013 - Biometrics for ROC

Thank you so much for clarifying...we were married 9/1/11 and have lots of pictures of our wedding, the court pictures with our witnesses, our reception, and just pictures we took around Ethiopia after we were married...you can say our mini honeymoon..but we also have my plane ticket, hotel bill, receipts, emails etc. that good enough? if we cant get affidavits from friends?

Thank you for the info...this is overwhelming...but for my husbnd..its ver well worth it!! thanks again!!

Thanks for the info...my next question is on the G325A form...can my husband fill his form and sign it then forward to me in an email attachment for me to print out and send? or do they need his original signed G325A form? thanks

Include the items you mention regardless if you can get affidavits or not.

No on the email attachment, original signature required. To expand on my answer in your other thread, it is possible to write a note on the form "Will sign at Embassy." However, there is no guarantee that the USCIS adjudicator who adjudicates your petition will be familiar with that provision and issue an RFE for a signed form, which would have to be provided in that circumstance. The best thing that I suggest is to submit the signed form with an original signature.

For evidence, all that we provided was a copy of our marriage certificate and two affidavits that weren't notarized. We had an RFE, but that was because I forgot to include a copy of my passport. No need to go insane with bona fide evidence.
