23 Days to Generate an NVC Case Number?

I spoke with an NVC operator, who told me that NVC received our case on September 12, four days after petition approval. She also told me, though, that it would take 23 days from the date of receipt for them to enter the case into their system and generate a number. Does it really take that long to generate a case number? Based on previous threads, I gathered that around July 2011, it was taking CSC a month to send approved petitions to NVC. But I've always thought that once NVC receives a case, it's entered into their system immediately. So I'm confused about the 23-day wait. Oh, and I'm also majorly disappointed!

That is probably a scripted answer. I would try back next week sometime to see if there is a case number loaded.

My I-130 was approved on JULY 31, received at NVC on AUGUST 15(!) and I got my NVC case number just yesterday... (My service center was VSC) The backlog must be a major one!

We've been calling the NVC about 3 times a week, got a different answer every time... The day before I received the email with the case # and the invoice #, they had told my husband to "call back on Friday", something they have told us many times in these past 6 weeks! Well, we actually got a case number this time! Thank God!!!

Mine took 4 days for VSC to send our approval to NVC. NVC generated the case number in about a week. I would say, that's their standard process but, it may be quicker.

My Case was approved on 16th August 2011 and was received by NVC on 22nd August 2011, till date I haven't received the case number.

I called NVC and they advised to wait till next week.
