First, if someone has recently done a packet 3 for China - what can I do to make sure I have everything there for her? Where is a good list for China? Each country seems to be slightly different (?) Someone said a police statement in there post? What is that??

Second, the NVC told me on the phone you do not need to get documents Notorized anymore.

True or false?

How do you notorize a bank statement anyway? Especially from an online bank like ING?

Also, I have waited about 1 month and 10 days from the mailing date from the NVC.

No package takes that long but searching showed wait times of 2 months. What is going on over there ??

About police certificates: not only from local police office, but from every other country the beneficiary's lived for more than 6 months if they were older than 16 years old at the time.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Unfortunately, this is quite normal for China. Chinese customs seem to take extra long in processing the boxes sent from NVC to GUZ. 1 month wait is pretty standard for those boxes to clear. 1-2 months for your file from NVC to reach GUZ is standard. This is not something that is only happening to your file, but to almost all files sent from NVC to GUZ.

Quick question: I downloaded the list of CITIC bank branches from the Consulate Web site... It states that the K-1 fee, 830 RMB, can only be paid at certain branches in Gangdong and Fujian. What's up with that? It's a not insignificant trip from Qingdao just to visit a bank..!

Okay, if the fee can be paid immediately before the interview, then that's not inconvenient. After all, she'd be in Guangzhou anyway!

But, be aware that neither the flowchart or the Step-by-Step indicate exactly when the fees (other than the initial I-129F fee) must be paid. That caused confusion in my mind...
