You will get your EAD before then. They have a max of 90 days to get it to you. If you don't get it by 12/8 then you just call them and they will issue an inter-min EAD card as that is their standard SOP. Good luck with your case.

We filed AOS, AP and EAD on 9/28. The biometrics were done on 10/27 and the interview is on 12/12, however there are no updates regarding the AP or EAD. The wife wants to go back home for Christmas soon after the interview, but we do not want to purchase tickets without the AP or the green card on hand. It seems some folks get their AP very quickly and some wait few month. Why is that?

AP approved and EAD card production ordered yesterday (Nov 14th) - exactly a week before interview.

Interview today (2 months after submitting package). Lasted 25 mins, usual questions (will write more later), only documents requested were my passport and my wife's ID (although I had whole backpack of stuff with me). Status : Document production :)

Btw - combo EAD/AP card showed up today in the mailbox.

Was surprised (and happy !) myself :) One thing to mention is I did walk-in biometrics approximately 3 weeks ahead of scheduled appointment.

Timeline

Had my AOS from B2 visa interview the other day in Long Island City and was approved on the spot in about 20 minutes.

Process:

-Swear in

-Checked passports/birth certificates

-Usual questions, birthdays, where/when did you meet, where do you both work, names/occupations of parents/siblings, where did you travel together

-Casual conversation about traveling and the economy

-Stamp of passport and reminder to fill out the paperwork in 2 years

Couple of tips:

-Eat drink/before you arrive, security confiscates all food/drink and you could be waiting a long time for your appointment

-Dress professional

-Have all your paperwork organized so your not wasting their time

-Don't answer questions unless specifically directed towards you

-Sit near the entrance to the offices in the waiting room so you can hear your name being called
