The OP said denial.

My curiosity is which petition the OP submitted.

Any speculation beyond these facts being revealed, are just that, speculation.

OP, can you indulge us with more information? I see you monitoring responses.

I filled the k-1 and i left the country to visit family what i am starting to realize by ur helpful comments is that when the sent me the rfe i didnt send enough evidence at all so when they sent me a letter saying i was denied the specific thing they said was that i didnt met her in the last 2 years . when i called the service center a nice immigration officer gave me the fax number to the officer who handled my case so i was able to communicate with him and ask what more was needed. all in all i think i just didnt send enough evidence to show that i had met her in the last two years so they denyed me.

What did they request on your RFE? What was you missing?

So, were you denied or did you get an RFE?

If the evidence was not adequate, send in more compelling evidence.

How did they advise you of the status of your case?

I guess they've gotten an RFE and weren't able to provide any more evidence of having met and thus got the denial.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Did they deny you or ask for more information? The way the usually do it is ask for more information regarding your meeting your fiance. If they denied you I think (don't hold me to this) that you can ask that your case be reopened. Can you give us some more information? When did you meet and when did you file?

i sure can i am new and a little pissed so sorry for my vagueness belive i have the actual engagement documents and i also have emails concerning my trip there i also belive i have plane ticket stubbs to its a long story she is actually my mothers best friends neice and we begining emailing and tlaking on the phone last fall i went to her country and had the ceremony and filed as soon as i got back

It would help to know what country you were denied. There are sure to be more responses from people familiar with your consulate.

Christine

Christine, I think - if they filed for a K-1, that it doesn't matter where the fiance is from, as the case apparently has been denied by USCIS. If so, what matters is whether they were able to meet the requirements and support the petition with adequate evidence of such, and, of course, send out the appropriate forms and documents.

OP: Have you gotten an RFE asking for evidence (or more) evidence of having met within the last 2 years?

Thanks Mew, I thought his denial was at the consulate level

Good eveing i was just denied because it said i had not met my fiancee within the last 2 years when i clearly sent pasport/photos of the ceromony that were timestamped to the immigration people and they still denyed me whats going on here? lucky i was able to get a hold of the director of the office who denied me but i am waiting on a response any help would be helpdul

How were you informed of the denial was it e-mailed to you, snail letter, posted on the CSC site? I don’t understand. When did you file and what stage was you in? Had you received your NOA-1 yet? Please till us more.

sorry im just not sure exactly what say but thank you all for helping me out with questons i filed in july and my next letter was supose to be an approval letter but it was a denial letter. i belive the stage i was in was right before the approval / denial stage. also i think i didnt send in enough evidence to show that we met.

Maybe they denied you because you failed to use punctuation and your writing style is very hard to understand?

Seriously, I kid because I care. Now, just give us the facts. Was it a denial or an RFE? Can you send additional evidence? What did you eat for breakfast this morning?

Please answer these important questions so we may be more aware of your situation.

OP,

Ouch. So you got an RFE, yet you are not clear what evidence was sent on your behalf? Then denied?

Suggest that you hire an Immigration Attorney specializing in "family related" issues.

Best of luck!

My brain hurts.

Dude, send in all the pertinent evidence you can. I don't know why you didn't do that in the first place. Leave NO doubt.

They've been denied. They cannot send more evidence at this stage.

Can they appeal though?

It says here (among other things and information on how to appeal) - http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/repealdenial.htm - that the denial should bring information on who to appeal to. What does your denial letter say?

Yep, contact a lawyer.

Also, you can read appeal decisions here: http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/lawsregs/adm...c3/d6/index.htm

Alright. So... it's a denial and I think it'd be best if you didn't try to do this by yourself - contact an experienced lawyer and get some advice. Read through the appeals decision to which I linked you above - it doesn't hurt to educate yourself on what you're dealing with. You'll find lots of info there.
