I need to know where to get the extract of birth certificate? I know its at the National Archives of Haiti but the address and phone number? Everything on the web is dead I called almost 50 number with no answers. Also if any one has a clue if there is a express service there, or how to get this in a fast way?? Our Interview is 11 days away? If anybody can help me with this I will be forever grateful...

Ashley,

hey Ashley,

The advice giving above is accurate my hubby lives in Haiti and he had to go and apply for it and wait for someone to sign it and it took FOREVER!!!! because there was a 3rd party involve. I tried calling many times and they wouldn't send it out to me. I know that much. If you guys can go there in person remember who ever is requesting it needs a passport or Id for that also our situation the "3rd" party didn't ask for a copy of my hubys BC he asked to make one!! another reason why it took so long.I pray yours goes swiftly, Nonetheless, may I ask you a question? I see that you are not n the timeline can you tell me how long it took you guys to get an interview date and how long did you have to wait at NVC for it. We've been waiting for an interview since July 17th thank you.

Hey Nelly how r u doing? long time no talk. I still have not filed my I-130 package to USCIS. I finally got my Acte of marriage and now they told me i will not be able to get the extract of acte marriage because the register will be sent to archive national not earlier than Febuary 2012. They said the register is sent every year. However, they said they can give me an " attestation" of the acte of marriage which would help me for the process. I already paid for it and i will get it tomorrow or monday. It is the only thing that kept me from sending the paper.I will send the "acte of marriage" and "attestion acte of marriage" both translated to USCIS. What do you think my friend?

hi friend,

I honestly think you need to send your app ASAP reason why is they will accept the 'Copy' of the act of Marriage At USCIS. I also believe that it's better to get starting on it now so you can at least have a start then to wait longer where it take it's a waiting game. Also if they need more info they always ask Know that at USCIS you just need to prove that you guys are married and she is able to apply for you the hardest step is NVC when you have to have the right papers and just how they want you to send it so like said if you can send in your app now so you can start on this process and also you say that you won't be able to get the other stuff until starting of next year so it might come around when you will need it the most my friend.

Ashley,

Ashley, you can also go to www.bonmamit.com to get assistance with ordering your birth certificate extract if you are outside of Haiti. They assist Haitians abroad in getting these types of documents.

Moved from IR-1/CR-1 Process & Procedures to Caribbean regional forum; topic is specific to Haiti.

The OP of this thread posted that question nearly a year ago. With that being said, other readers will likely find that information to be useful.
