I have tried to read all possible on the K1 process and everything about it. My NOA1 went to the CSC and arrived on 07/14/11. The case was “updated” on 08/09/11, with no change is status. On VJ’s “time trends” the CSC is processing visas from 70 days ago, approx. July 6th. Can anyone tell me what is going on? Or how long “processing” takes once a human looks at the application?

Usually CSC are the fastest to process.

However each case is unique. That the case was updated doesn't really mean someone look at that. It could be that it was moved from one cubicle to another.

Also it is really hard to based on the VJ timeline, as it is strictly dependent on VJ members to update their timeline.

Hang in there as I said CSC is usually pretty fast, not unlike VSC where I am waiting on my case.

Good luck on your journey.

Welcome to VJ!

I looked at Igor's list (found here http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?visa=1&form=1&scenter=1&option=2&sortby=2)

and it looks like May petitions at CSC are getting NOA2 now. Which to me seems very fast. No one can tell you exactly when your petition will be adjudicated but if you start a timeline here you will see an estimate of when based on all the data that is collected from VJ members.

It's a long strange trip, enjoy it!

Good luck!

you case gets updated whenever they scan the bar code on the petition. its still early to talk about an approval. remember the estimates are and will always be 5 months. some are lucky some are less lucky. the only thing you can do now is have patience. i know is easy to say that but thats indeed the only thing you can do

Hey Phil..Looks like we are in the same boat. I received my NOA1 on June 9 and like you have had no change. Not sure whats going on, but the word 'patience" has not been used in my vocab very often..I guess I need to practice it now. Let me know if you get anything also.

Provided you have included everything needed, processing a petition takes about 20-30 minutes, start to finish assuming a clean background check. The typical adjudicator processes 20-24 petitions in a 10 hour day.

If there is a need for an RFE it could be considerably longer as they do not necessarily send the RFE right away, the file gets sent to another person to do that and waits in line there for the notification to be sent.
