Timeline Question

Hi all,

I know that the dates in the Processing Estimates/Stats is just an estimate, and could go up or down, based on if or when other members update their own timelines or if new members join and create a timeline, but what does the date given for adjudication actually mean? Does it mean the estimated date of approval from the service center processing the petition, or does it mean that this is the date that the NVC will have sent the approved petition over to the embassy by.  I know we have just submitted our petition in August, and we have a lot of time to go yet, but the time does seem to be passing quickly or at least it does feel like it on some days.

Processing

Estimates/Stats :

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between December 13, 2011 and December 25, 2011*.

Thank you,

Kimberly

that means you should get NOA2 between december 13 and december 25. remember the timeline will change drastically once they start approving july and august filers. ours dropped with 3 months from the time we created the timeline, and we were approved before the first date of the estimated time

Hi Kimberly,

That's probably the time that you'll get your NOA2 and your case will be sent to the embassy in Tunisia. After that depending on the embassy there, your fiance will get contacted to put together his application and paperwork and then go for the interview.

A word of advice: don't hold your breath. My fiance is in Lebanon, another Arab/Middle Eastern country and he also has a Muslim name. Everything went smoothly including his interview, and then we were shocked and thrown into the hell that is "additional administrative processing". If you search for it on these forums, you'll find that this is very common for people from Arab/Muslim countries, especially for fiance's who are MEN (not women) and who have Muslim names, like your fiance and mine.

We've been in admin processing for 3 months now.. and counting. No one can give us any information. I've had my congressman inquire into it, but still no budging. I call the State Department weekly and email the embassy bi-weekly.

Just so you know, the consensus seems to be that the vast majority of people get approved after admin processing.. but it can take months .. maybe even a year. :(

Good luck, but just wanted to give you a heads up. I had no idea and planned my life around him coming here right after his interview. Silly me.

Just as a follow up to what was shared here, Tunisia is probably among the most liberal of all Arab nations with not requiring the additional AP. Both my husband and my friend fiancee both breezed thru their interviews even during the revolution. The embassy staff there are actually WONDERFUL about helping Americans and their Tunisian family get thru the visa process. I would not worry as much as other MENA members unfortunately must.

NOA2 times are all over the map, and even if the website does predict you'll get it on a specific day, that can change drastically from now until then. I was supposed to have my NOA2 a month ago according to original timeline estimates, now it won't even guess anymore. :(

The consensus best advice around here is to get some things ready which you can do now (moving plans, financial support documents, check out what your fiance has to do to get police reports, etc). And once you have those ready, just wait for the letter in the mail.

"Adjudicated" means the date that a USCIS adjudicator will make a decision on the petition. The decision is usually to approve the petition, but occasionally petitions are denied. In either case, a notice of action (NOA) is generated on the day that the petition is adjudicated.
