My girl wanted to wait for the letter from the embassy, so as not to get things too jacked in Manila. However, when she called and asked about it, the person answering the phone said all you need is the case number. I have been trying to tell her that for a month  My girl finally got the letter from the embassy. Things should start to move really fast now (I hope).

In fact, I am getting a little nervous!!

My packet of docs (I-134, evidence, chats & emails) will be going tomorrow DHL. Now, if I can only keep her mom from reading my I-134 and thinking I'm rich :bonk: It seems all mail sent to my girl c/o her parents gets opened, even if it is addressed to her specifically. must be a Filipino thing? Maybe a really good sealed brown envelope with just that doc is the ticket?

Thanks,

jim

NO. it is NOT a PINOY thing. I am Pinoy and i mind what's only mine. Her mom needs to learn more about this: RESPECT.

I think her family/mom opens letters and packages. I probably shouldn't worry, but I am a little concerned about sending all that financial stuff. As many of us know, in the US, we just handle more money. That is, we get more, but we spend more. It would be great to make a US income and live on Phillipine prices.

I surely thing opening mail is not a filipino thing. I know a lot of Filipinos who knows how to follow the law here. It's how a family is raised and how values are being molded. I am quite sure this wrong doing just doesn't happen in the Philippines. As much as there are good and bad people in the other side of the world, surely you can find the same type here too and anywhere.

I strongly agree. Nothing to do with race or color on your skin. It's all about how they were raised. One thing i think is true is that most people who do such thing are those not-so-lucky to get good education. They just didn't know it's wrong or they don't care and just do it anyway.

Let us not generalize here, please. It happens everywhere: brown, black or white race.
