Yes but when non-Muslims have suspicions it is labeled profiling. The OP referred to the FBI using agent provocatours yet we know some of those operations produced results and so we do not have the luxury of pretending there is never any connection between Radical Islamists Muslims and mainstream Muslims.

That does not lead to the conclusions the FBI trainer comes to though.

No one is pretending that there is never any connection between Radical Islamists and mainstream Muslims. It's true, however, that the chances of you knowing him is about as great, if not greater.

Good example: Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan.

If you infiltrate any group - church, kiwanis, 4H, little league baseball, etc. - eventually you're going to find criminal activity. What the FBI has a history of doing is setting up criminal activity.

I'm still not sure why we pay them to do that.

Unfortunately this article was so diced up with short quotes then commentary, it would be hard to know the context of anything covered.

This was a "steer-job" if ever there was one, if not, why not offer more of the actual material and less commentary?

This is a one-sided article and most definitely a "steer-job" but that doesn't discount the fact that the FBI (and others) have been using discriminatory tactics against Muslims for quite a while. That needs to stop.

I disagree. I don't think we need to pay taxes to the federal government to fight crime on that level. Crime can be fought on the local level.

I had a book about canoeing at one time. Maybe I still do in my library. I have google, so I don't visit there often.

Anyways, the subject came up on how to deal with flies/mosquitoes, when you are trying to eat. The book suggested you meander to over where your friend is engrossed the delicious rehydrated meal he is eating, oblivious to all else. Since most insects don't like to pursue a moving object, you linger by him just long enough to brush off the little buggers in his direction, and then keep moving about the campsite, so that they no longer bother you.
