Hi everyone,

We are applying for a visa for my hubby through DCF and this board has been a huge help so far. We received our packet 3 from Montreal and are pulling together all the paperwork for that.

I'm hoping to get some guidance about the I-864. We are both living in Canada now. I am the USC sponsor, but I am currently on maternity leave. My Canadian EI benefits will continue until May 2012. With my salary from the first half of this year and my EI benefits, my income meets the poverty line requirements. I know I can continue to collect the EI benefits once we relocate to the US, but I am worried that because my EI ends next May and I have no job lined up in the States that I won't meet the sponsorship requirements.

Would you recommend a) including my husband's income (he could potentially continue to work for his Canadian employer after we move); b) asking my parents to co-sponsor; c) including our assets -- or will we be OK with just my salary + EI benefits?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

I would get a co-sponsor, also your gonna have to prove US domicile at the interview, Montreal embassy is really hard on that.

Also your husband's income does not figure into the amount - no matter how much he has or is earning.
