problems tracking through DHL

Ok, so I obsessively checked the DHL website about a million times today to see the status of what I think is our petition being sent to Montreal.

Now, tonight, I am trying to be obsessive again, and the search criteria that I have used all day is being rejected with a little note that says:

Reference not unique. Please narrow your search criteria.

I was searching under "CORRESPONDENCE" for the dates 18 - 19. Has this happened to anyone before? Is their site just iffy? Has my obsessive compulsive checking come to a harsh and rude end??!?@?!

Try searching with reference as - Expedite NIV Section

Neither EXPEDITE IV or NIV show anything for yesterday or today. I-730 shows a few, but certainly not what I was looking at earlier.

Try this: I tracked my petition from NVC to Guangzhou.

GO to DHL Worlwide Express website http://www.dhl.com

Select USA

A new page will open

At the top highlight tracking and click on TRACK BY REFERENCE

In the Reference field type CORRESPONDENCE

For the Shipment date you should select a day before and after the date NVC said they sent your file.

Customer number leave blank

Origin Postal code should be 03801

Then Click Track

Even if you're able to track packages sent from NVC to the consulate/embassy, there's no way to be sure that package contains *your* case. I was on DHL site for some time but I realized it would only be a source of stress.

it doesn't look like they have shipped anything yet this week, the only thing the last i see that they have shipped of k1/k3 is 9/15, so yours probably has not been shipped yet, i check in a couple of days

I guess for Canada it would be harder, it was a little easier for me to track mine, going through South Korea, not too many people file K1 through there.....so it may be harder for others than it was for me.

Ummm.. are you saying I'm not supposed to be checking? I did not realize I was supposed to be operating covertly. And I don't know which was mine.. I was lurking and watching three that left today and yesterday and hoping one was mine.

You keep on checking Mo, there is nothing wrong with it at all, just ignore negative comments. If it makes you feel better to check, then you check. It is all about doing what gives you more hope and confidence about your case moving on to the next step and being completed.

Thank you very much snz... appreciate it - I guess I'm a bit of a control freak and like knowing as much as I can what is going on. For so much of this process you have no idea at all what is happening, so when the opportunity is there to know even just a little, I guess I jump on it.

Thanks.. adding the postal code did it. Still not sure why what I was doing stopped working, but who cares? Now I can have a full day of being obsessive compulsive again tomorrow!

I know exactly what you mean, I did the same exact thing. When you are stuck at USCIS for so very long and then all of the sudden you are at a point when you can actually get information, of course you are going to do everything you can to get that information. It sucks sitting in the dark for so long, then you finally see a light and start going nuts trying to get all the information you can...believe me i understand.
