Beneficiary Quiting her Job - any impact

My finacee in the Philippines will have trouble getting time off for the medical/interview.

I told her if it comes down to it, she must quit her job. I also told her a steady job looks better for us. My question is, is there any impact if the beneficiary is unemployed, maybe there is but I have told her that she can tell the interviewer that she had to quit because she can't get time off.

I don't think it has any impact on the visa approval.

Can she call in sick on those days she needs to go to the medical and the interview?

i dont think having no job here in phi is issue..besides the interviewer wouldnt ask bout her job here or why she did quit.

No, it doesn't matter if the beneficiary is employed... but agree with what someone else said - what about being sick those days?

If, in the worst case scenario, something didn't go well at the interview or there were any delays, it would be good for her to still have her job whilst waiting. It's nice to have something to occupy your mind and time.. and to keep making money :)

I think I am going to try to get her to call in sick or stick to her guns and say she has to have these days off. These people work so much, for so little,

with no benefits.. its just not right. I think it is near slave labor because the resort room rates are $ 200 a night there. It really changes the equation

when I am behind her and she knows that. I'll have her work right up till the interview if possible.

Her next job will be Domestic Goddess. (L)

It's a non issue. I had Patty quit her teaching job in college back in May because I did not want her quitting in the middle

of the semester and put undue strain on the University. It had no impact whatsoever on the visa approval.

Good luck!

It will be an issue if the petitioner has no job at all but for the beneficiary it doesn't matter. I know how strict employers are in the Philippines. It's a crime to take a week off or be absent :), they might just fire you instead. Unless if her boss likes her a lot, my former boss allow me to have a vacation for a month when my fiance went here to visit me, it's because he was able to find a substitute teacher for my students. Maybe your fiance was worried for the money she will lose if she will not work, assure her that it will not be a problem and offer a financial support. I was jobless when I had my interview since I'm back to school, when we started the process, I don't have my job anymore so we are more focused on paperwork and travelling for interview and medical was never a problem.

Not an issue as far as the visa goes. If she is going to call in sick, stop asking for the day off.

None what so ever. You are the only one that has to prove income. It is irrelevant waht she does in the Philippines. We are almost at NOA2 and I had my fiancee stop working so she could get ready, and to be honest so we could talk more. With the time difference one of was usually at work.

She will be quitting regardless at some point to be with you. Tell her to look her employer in the eye and say she will not be there on those days so get somebody to cover her shift.

Make sure she has a family member collect her final pay. Employers in the Philippines are notorious about not giving things like separation pay and 13th month pay to emigrating employees.

To be honest.. they can keep it if they are that much of a low life to do that.
