As I said, it is a general question. Let me rephrase it. How many years they have to stay married for the green card to be successfully approved. Lot of times, they get married and things does not work out and get seperated or get divorced. I am just wondering what will be the fate of those people who have the GC in pending state. I guess what I am asking is what are the conditions for the green card approval based on the marriage.

It is kinda a Off-The-Wall Question to even ask.

So My Assumption is: This must be the Beneficiary and not the Petitioner asking this question. But, I might be wrong.

What even made you post such a question. There is No VJ Timeline or proof of anything except this question. Rather odd.

I don't think a Petitioner would post this question but he/she would love to see this before going any futhur.

But, I won't be Judgemental. Its your lives.

Just seems like a Odd Question to even ask. Best of Luck

You keep using the Word "THEY" Not US.

What is this. Are you asking a question for someone else?

General question. I am just curious to know. If some one marries for Green Card, how many days they have to stay married for obtaining the green card successfully?

Theres that question again. "IF SOMEONE" That indicates IF THEY. I'm beginning to think you are asking questions for another party.

If the GC is pending and divorce occurs the process is cancelled. They should return to their home country to avoid unnecessary time out of status.

Not many at all, as long the intent was not to get married solely for the purpose of obtaining a green card. But, if things don't work out that way later, it depends on the situation. Once the marriage passes the two year point, long enough to get a permanent green card.

Wrong answer. If he/she leaves the country, he/she can't adjust status.

Ummm what? YOU'RE wrong. If they're divorced DURING the GC process then there's no AOS either!! They have no basis to adjust!! So the process is cancelled and they should return to their home country.
