do we need to bring our ORIGINAL birth certificates to my AOS interview? including the orig birth certificates of my husband's kids? i have my orig BC with me but my husband (petitioner) only has a photocopy of it. will this be a problem???

Unfortunately you do need it.. We had the same problem at first. My hubby, a us citizen born abroad, had only a copy. It was enough to submit a copy for the aos package, but when we got interview notice our lawyer said we need it. It was nearly impossible to get it, but somehow we managed to do it. Our interview was last Thursday, and the officer did ask for both of our birth certificates (originals) and compared with the copies that we have submitted earlier.

So I highly recommend that you try to recover it.
