Also, one more thing: is the only concern for money? We live in an age where people who have been together sometimes less than a week wind up committing their lives to one another. Not saying it's always going to fail, but there's got to be some consideration as to how serious the marriage commitment is. We're in an age it seems where divorce is thrown around all willy nilly. Is it prudent to marry someone you barely know? What other ramifications can come of that other than money? It's up to each person to decide. It seems like it's easy to hide behind the law...oh, you can get divorced, oh you can get a prenup, etc. I feel like these 'get outs' mitigate the commitment being made. I've also read here countless times, the idea that the gov't should allow 'more time to marry after the immigrant gets here, so that the parties are REALLY REALLY sure they want to marry.' That's also not the intention of the 90 days, and clearly says so. If you (collective you again, not you specifically) need 'get to know me' time with someone, you clearly have no business committing your life to him/her anyway. And you are also going against your signed statement to the gov't that you are ready willing and able to marry at the time of petitioning. None of us wrote a disclaimer of '*providing we get along well while we're getting to know one another after I've brought this person to America'. Bringing an immigrant spouse to this country is serious business, and I'd love to see more people giving it the attention it deserves because it's a very big deal that has sometimes lifelong consequences.

But is any of this a trick as you state? No way.
