Hi guys,

The wifey just scheduled her medical interview in Chennai for the 27th of Sept, and her visa interview is on Oct 28th. She doesn't have her medical records, hence the reason for the early medical check up.

Quick question: Does she have to submit documents to VFS, and if so how early should it be submitted?

Thanks

As per the VFS web site, it can be submitted 15 business days prior to your interview date - meaning 3 weeks. So I guess they will take it on or after Oct 7th for you. I got an email from VFS stating that we can even take the medical reports to interview. If you spouse is in Chennai, just submit everything on or after Oct 7th - Apollo I guess takes just 2 days to give report.

Apollo Heart Center, Chennai on greams rd, you can have a appointment set up via calling them in advance. On the appointment date you need to be there by 11AM but you can go early and wait as well. The next day you collect your reports at 4.30PM in one big sealed envelope. It is also good that you have quite a few panel physicians here. If you have a preference to choose between female/male physicians you have the option as well here at Apollo on greams rd in Chennai.

On the day of your appointment you go and register, and then on the second floor you need to go to the receptionist who will assign you a doctor and send you for chest x-ray, blood tests, height, weight, vision check up, ears, nose checkup and once done you will wait for the doctor. the doctor then calls you in and does the physical check up and prescribes any vaccinations that are needed, then you go buy those vaccinations in the medical shop and a nurse will give you the vaccines. That's it for the medical.

next day you go and collect your reports in one big sealed envelope at 4.30PM.

some helpful information on what to expect on a medical exam:

For the last two days, there is less activity at VJ. Looks like all are busy with interview preparation.

We are planning medical at Hyd on 10/1 (10/6 & 10/10 are holidays for VFS and US Consulate (chennai is also closed on 10/5)), since the results are generally given after a week. Not planning to give the medical report at VFS but take it to the interview. Will pay the courier fee and submit other documents (copy of passport, copy of interview letter & photos) at VFS around 10/7 or 1011. What are you planning!
