Waiting on NBI

This whole journey has really been pretty quick for us - up until now. We went to NBI over 1 month ago, and the system was being upgraded so there was no computer work, everything being done the old way w/ink being used for fingerprints and all forms sent to Manila for processing via mail. We were told to wait 30 days and then call. In the mean time, we called them in 1 weeks time and were told the system was again online, so if we didn't mind paying for another NBI, we could get it in one day - provided there were no "hits" on her name. There was a hit, so now we are again waiting. I called them on Monday, as it's been 30+ days since we filed the first one, and that's not in yet. We were told to wait the full 30 days for the second one, which is in 8 days. Everything was moving along so good, then wham! I feel like we are up against a wall just waiting - Is there anyway to expedite this?

The NBI is back to its regular operation. I am waiting for my NBI clearance too which I applied last week of July but was told it's Manila NBI office who has the control of it and cause of the delay..typical government thing, of all the upgrade and everything :( but I was told that if I need the clearance quick, its best to reapply and have a new clearance right there and then (2 hours to wait if we have no hit).

she should just come here in manila and go to main..she can get it in one day even there hits on her name.she should just ask for it and tell she really need it..or if she cant get it in 1 day then at least its just 10days of waiting..

Where do you live? Here in Cebu City there's this satellite office of NBI in the northern part of Cebu named "Tuburan" where in you can get your NBI clearance in just an hour. No more waiting, no long lines and in short, its hassle free. :)

I live in Leyte, and with the hit on her name, it is taking the whole month to clear. If I went to Manila, and the hit there takes 10 or more days, the price of the hotel and flights back and forth would be just to much. I still need to go there for a medical, and also for the interview, a third trip just for NBI isn't going to happen. Thanks for the reply's, I guess I have no choice but to wait - you have got to love this country...

i went to manila for my nbi i went to main 6am i finished 11am.nbi office here in our province said that my name was hit thats why its taking so long aside from 1 month of waiting. so i ask my fiance if he could send me to manila to get it then i will just have my advance medical. so its dual purpose. and thats what i did. after getting my nbi i sent my iv packet right away. then went for my medical at st. lukes, btw its just a walk from the main office of the nbi.

Finally got the NBI we were waiting on, and I had a certified true copy, and in the envelope and off to Fed-ex before the ink from her thumbprint dried! I now have the DS-230 on it's way to NVC, and my I-864 will be following in the next day or 2, being mailed from New England it should arrive at about the same time as my package from Visayas. I am really starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel - I planned a trip to Manila this week for medical, but after seeing the devastation of the last typhoon, and the next one scheduled to hit in almost the exact same place in a few days, I guess it is best to just wait for awhile. I may just go one time and get everything done at once. I know I am taking a gamble on the outcome of the Medical but it seems I have little choice.
