We have been in AP for over 3 months, had our interview on May 26, 2011.

After his interview, i contacted the embassy and was told via email

"Hello,Per our phone conversation, your fiancées visa case has to go through a Special Administrative processing which takes between 1 week to 3 months maximum. We will be informing you and him to come and get the visa with the passport once the process is over.I am sorry we do not have any exact time when this is done but we will keep checking."

The embassy told me via phone that we were approved but need to undergoa said special processing for a max of 3 months

I checked back every few weeks and was continually told 3 months maximum. Well 3 months have passed.

So last friday (and today) I contacted DOS to find out our status and was told by the visa specialist that they are simply waiting for the embassy to finalize the last things and then we will recieve a response.

So Monday I emailed the embassy to inquire about the case and told them what I was told by the visa specialist and the embassy said

"Hello,Thank you again for your letter. Unfortunately the information you received from visa services is incorrect and the visa application of your fiancée is still pending administrative processing. Please be informed that this process is entirely beyond the control of the Embassy."

Some AP cases have waited a year by which time they need brand new medicals and police certificates.

Have you tried contacting your congress person or senator?

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Yes I have contacted my senator, im just trying to figure out where my petition is and who is working it on. Basically... who has the ball? they are bouncing me back and forth, plus they gave a definitive time frame.

Well they can take as long as they want to do AP so basically what they did is called "misinformation" which happens A LOT someone says maximum 3 months but that is not the actual case, it can take however long it takes.

The case is sitting at the embassy if the visa has not yet been issued.

If the senator cant help bump the case into moving ahead and not being stuck then there isn't much else to do, save for trying the congress person and if they could get it moving. You would just have to wait till whenever they finished.

AP is called a black hole for a reason, and what they actually do is classified, unfortunately. Good thing is most people make it out okay and I bet yours will be finished soon! Good luck!

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
