They're pretty close to the same size.

The Galil has a folding stock so it gets a lot shorter. The M-4's stock can extend about five more inches so if both are extended, the M-4 is only slightly shorter than the Galil and if both are collapsed/folded, the M-4 is only slightly longer than the Galil.

So... same.

Because they didn't steal it fair and square like everyone else. If you want statehood you either have to steal it or kick out the occupying forces.
