mail in colombia.

Hello all. Long story short, i was in the Fiance Visa forums discussing everything I need to have my fiance sign and ship to me. Someone (from Colombia) made a brief post that said while she is sending me signed forms, she might as well send me a signed DS-3032 form. I had never heard of this form and someone else suggested I asked this question in the Colombia forum (my fiance lives in Bogota).

Can anyone explain or advise exactly what this form is for? It talks about making someone (the petitioner I assume) authorized to make payments and receive mail on her behalf. I'm just a little unsure of exactly why we would need this. Doesn't my I129-F application i'm preparing to send end up getting sent to the embassy in Bogota? So I don't understand what exactly would be sent to me on her behalf that I would need to be authorized to receive. If anyone could advise me that would be great.

Also, this is kind of a separate question....

I know the mail service in Colombia is getting better but isn't quite proficient yet. I've sent my Fiance 4 or 5 letters and she's only received about half of them. That really scares me when talking about shipping important documents. Have any of you had any trouble with shipping / receiving documents while in the Visa process? Do you strictly just use DHL or FedEx? Any advice would be much appreciated.

To the best of my knowledge, the DS-3032 is not needed for the I-129F fiance visa process as there are no fees or forms to submit to NVC.

The DS-3032 is only required by those submitting packages at NVC (like IR-1/CR-1 applicants). K-1 applicants do not send a DS-3032.

Excellent. Thanks for your responses. I guess it would do no harm to have her sign the form and ship it too me just in case it was necessary in the future, but it sounds like your right that I won't need it for K-1 Fiance visa.

thanks again!!
