Is it okay if the police certificate is 10 months old?

Regarding tax returns, is it okay to send one for the last year now if I plan to go for interview in about 10 months in summer (i.e., when 2010’s tax return will not be considered last one any more)? Or I will have to take with me a new tax return for 2011?

Thanks.

The police certificate is valid for 1 year from issuance regardles of anything else it may say.

Tax returns should be the most recent year (2010) The I-134 should be fairly recent. I know of cases where it was 60 days old and OK, I do not know about 90 days. They always have the ption to ask for a more recent version so best to have it as recent as possible,

Its better to have a police certificate dated close to the interview.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Based on what?

For consulate purposes a PC is valid up to one year... valid is valid... no such thing as better

YMMV

No it isn't.

If it is less than 1 year old it is valid and will be accepted by the consulate as such.

I Canada they want it closer to the interview not old because then thos months past are not valid on the police cert. I have also seen a couple posts on VJ from people saying they were asked for a new police certificate because it was close to but not 1 year old yet.

Maybe it's because they think you Canucks are a shifty lot.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

The posts of people who were requested for new police certs were not from Canadians.

I don't doubt ya. I don't know if it's at the interviewers discretion to ask for additional information on top of what's required or not. I do know that when my wife went to her interview in Poland that the gal doing the interview told her she would need to bring more ...something or other, and my wife told her that unless they changed the rules from the time she left the hotel and arrived at the embassy that she brought with her everything that was asked for, and then she told the gal to get her supervisor immediately. The gal came back a few minutes later and told my wife to come back at 3pm the next day to pick up her visa.

As far as tax returns, if you have already filed 2011 taxes and have a 2011 return, then 2011 is the one the you will need to bring. That doesn't mean 2010 can't be brought as well. If the interview is sometime before April 2012, then 2010 will do. After that, you need 2011.

That's just me hitting this logically and I think that is what your question was, right?
