Date of Adjudication keeps moving further up?

I keep on noticing the date keeps moving. What is going on? I wish my husband can be home for Christmas. This is getting to be painful.

Thanks

The date of adjudication will always vary depending on other VJ members' timelines. As other people get approved, the date will change. As time passes with no approvals, the times will change. But remember, don't rely on that date, as it's just an approximation.

And unfortunately, I don't think it'll be possible for your husband to be home by Christmas. You still have to get approved from USCIS, then you have a whole stage at NVC which takes about 1-2 months on average IF you have everything ready to go asap. Then once your case is closed, you still have to wait for an interview date.

My expected date got pushed back a month.. then today I see "There are not enough recent approvals in the timeline system to accurately approximate when your I-129f will be approved. Please see the Timeline Stats page to see recent approvals. " ... *CRIES!!*

Hi

I checked their web site today; I saw that someone who has a case number greater than mine is approved. It's a normal?

USCIS doesn't approve in order of case numbers. It's whoever's desk your petition lands on and whether or not that officer reviews quickly or not.

Thanks for the explanation Saylin ;)

No problem! That's why I didn't bother checking receipt numbers around my own as it'll depend on who's desk your petitioner gets plopped onto. I met someone who had the same NOA1 date as myself, yet she got approved at the end of November, whereas I was only approved near the end of January. She was lucky and got on someone's desk who reviews petitions quickly :)

The VJ guess at adjudication is not official, it is a guess. Usually a pretty good guess, but that is all. They keep changing it to reflect the most accurate information they have currently.

Bear in mind that exactly NOTHING happens on the adjudication date. It is an arbitrary progress date that VJ chooses to guage (and everyone seems to wait breathlessly for) but nothing happens. No visa is issued, no one goes anywhere.

Your case then moves to the NVC where it will be for 2 days to 8 weeks or so and then to the consulate where you will go through the process to get an interview. I do not know how long that takes at the consulate you are using, it varies widely. The petition is not even any indication IF you will receive a visa, it is not even a visa application. It is asking permission to apply for a visa. Nothing else.

OOOHHHHHH I so hear ya! Its really frustrating following the timeline only to see the days drop back ggggrrrr. All you can do is wait patiently and hope your application gets approved soon. Good Luck.....:D
