Hi to all kindhearted people here in visajourney!

I would like to ask some questions, i hope some1 could enlighten me and at least uplift my spirit and hopes while im waiting for my PD. Thank you in advance

Well, here it goes, recently I kinda accepted it (though its hard) that I already aged-out for F2A category, i would like to ask if my PD as a F2A will still be the same when i will be transferred under F2B? And currently my mother is a LPR, will my waiting period be faster if she becomes a citizen?

Thank you.

Take care always everyone.

You keep the same PD, your mother becoming an USC takes away about a year from your waiting time, that of course if you are not from the Philippines, because there the wait is longer for F1 than it is for F2B.

The family preference F1 is for unmarried adult sons and daughters of US citizens. It's not the same as the F1 student visa.

In most countries, an F1 will get a visa sooner than an F2B. The Philippines is an exception - F1's are currently about 4 years behind F2B's. If your mother becomes a US citizen then she can request that you retain your F2B category rather than being upgraded to F1.
