Hi to everyone:

I have an employment authorization that I got on my POE, this work permit last until the 25 of sept. I already apply for the AOS on august 29. I have been working a few days a week on a restaurant with that work permit and I just find a better job in a hotel close to home, but I am concern that I only have a few more week to work and the uscis takes forever processesing documents, so I am pretty sure that I won't get any news before the 25 sept.l the day that i lose my current work permit.

Has anybody been in this situation that can gave some feed back?? I send the two forms the i485 and the 765 and I have two case numbers that start with MSC.

Thank u for everything

You are not employment authorized until you have EAD card in your hands - the stamp you have is not valid for employment purposes.

You cannot use the stamp to work as you came in on a K-1 the stamp is NOT valid.

You MUST have the EAD card or green card to work legally.

If you have an EAD card you have authorized employment if you just have a stamp from jfk then you do NOT have authorization you have a stamp that isn't valid with a K1 visa. Make sure you have the separate EAD card not knowing your correct state will cause you trouble , it doesn't matter what the stamp says it isn't valid with a K1 , You have to not work any time you are not authorized to work

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

You have been working illegally. The "work stamp" that you have in your passport is not valid for work. It USED to be and unfortunately it's still given out when it shouldn't be. The ONLY valid forms of work authorisation for you as a K1 is your EAD which is a hard plastic card like a drivers licence. Pic here: http://www.ilw.com/immigrationdaily/news/i-766.jpg and of course the GC. You will complete, or SHOULD have completed the I-9 form when you got your job which lists documetns which prove you're eligible to work. The stamp is NOT in that list. The EAD is, and you don't have an EAD.

You should immediately stop working. Make sure you declare it on your AOS forms though, and you must still list it on your taxes.
